  1. Nice, Zulu. Always with that trademarked Zulu-ethereal quality about it. There is a story behind that picture. . . . I wonder what Carth is up to?
  2. I would agree with Sentry -- Monica Bellucci would be excellent. Perhaps just a slightly younger Monica. But it really is all in the voice, isn't? The pixels that comprise Bastila in the game would'nt have such a following if it wasn't for the voice that Hale provided. Absolutely entrancing.
  3. hildegard - that is a vey nice Bastila picture. Where did you find it, anyway? julian- nice Mira pic, even if its not really supposed to be her. MissCora - first time using photoshop? holy smokes. I liked the pictures before, but colored, they really look great.
  4. Thanks, Lord Satasn. And yes, I am working on some darker material. . . . Wow. I don't think its overly shaded, Julian. In the Starforge there is a big light source from that central map or whatever that is, so its going to cast some strong shadows. And I would have to agree with the person that said its the best Revan that they have seen. Very nice. The emotion is very strongly depicted in the pic between the Bastila and Revan. MissCora - Thanks and welcome. Imageshack is pretty easy to use to host pictures. Looking forward to seeing your art. And thanks to everyone for their comments on the picture. He does look a bit rougher than the Carth in the game, I agree. I think its that big chin that makes him look at bit like Canderous. I will soften up his look just slightly and see how it comes out next time.
  5. thanks for the "fangirl squeal" DL! Much appreciated. I will expand on this initial look, and see if I can get him, female Revan, and Bastila in an action shot of some kind. Er, in a PG kind of action shot that is. julian- Atton does look a bit asian doesn't he? I don't usually just work with just art markers, but this time I decided to give it a go. Goodness, I need to draw more. Ever have that itch to draw but then the timing is never right, and you can't find the time to sit down for more than 30 minutes? And when you do, the blank page is just staring back at you, just daring you to try to make a mark on it? I know everyone here who has drawn just a little knows what I am talking about. Let's beat that feeling and start posting some more KoTOR fan art!
  6. Here is a Carth I was working on, to try to get his features down a bit better, more in line with the game depiction. Not perfect, but I want to do my part to keep this thread alive! Here is an all pen sketch of Atton and the Exile. He looks pretty smug. I am not sure why the Exile looks the way she does.
  7. I didn't know I was away from this forum for so long until I saw the number of great drawings posted here over the past week! julianw- I like the Atris (or the random chick *smiles*) The hair is well done, as are the eyes. Zulu - Your pieces have a surreal quality about them. Vall Konnar has some good constructive comments about the piece, but I like the ethereal quality about it. Finish it up the way you want to. ED - you are a machine with those pictures of Carth, Malak, Bastila . . . The Carth piece I especially like. You captured his look well. ANd the more Bastila pictures the better. . . Sentry - what more can I say? Here or on Kotorfanmedia, your style is great. You seem to be like me, however, and have a lot of unfinished pieces! Finish those up! I would love to see that Lord Satasn picture finished, as well as your KOTOR crew pic
  8. Julian - I like her expression and I think she would look good colored just as she is. ED- very nice Mira and its always fun to see it come together like that. The lightsabers as well as her hands could be a bit bigger, but overall its a great pose and a good look for her.
  9. Enha_Dyone - I like that pic you drew. :)The pencil work is very smooth. The eyes on the final picture look good. Julian - nice She-Malak. Disturbing. But well done. *smiles*
  10. Kotorfanatic - Nice picture of Bastila. The messy hair is a nice touch and goes a long way into showing her as "battle weary". And don't be so hard on yourself! The pose you choose for the Bastila picture is a good one. Getting the arm in proper prespective can be tough. I like to use a photo reference if I am not sure how something is going to look. You can make the picture as realistic or as cartoony as you want to, even with a photo reference -- it just allows you to see how things fit together and allows you to see body parts in relationship to one another. From anime to photorealism, having a reference can help out! And hey, don't be afraid to show more contrast in your picture, whether now or when you get those colored pencils. Pick out the darkest parts of your picture (by shadow or simply dark colors) and make them dark! A llitle contrast never hurt a picture. I hope you let us all see the picture once its colored and other pictures, too!
  11. Julian, nice Bastila pic. Her face is perfect. Satasn - you're very talented. Definitely an artist. Now just write a few Star Wars themed songs and post them here.
  12. the dude- Nice Bastila pic. I agree, she does look phillipino (sp?), but the pose and values used are nice. Zulu - the picture is looking good, the one with Carth and Revan. And the new one is simpler, like you said, and very funny. Keep the pictures coming!
  13. Zulu, that is a nice picture. Carth really looks like Carth, and that looks just like the model used for one of the female Revans. Nicely done! You know, you were asking about the arm. I think the overall length is probably OK, although I would take some away from the forearm and lengthen the upper arm with what you take away, then it should be fine. With photoshop that is easy to do. But I think if you look at Revan's head it looks pretty big compared to Carth's. By making her head smaller that may in and of itself make Carth's arm look OK. Just a few comments from artist to another. The use of colors and the values used work very well together.
  14. I guess it varies, but the Bastila picture was actually begun about 2 weeks ago. I worked on it for 2-3 hours for the first few days, then I took a break for a week, then I came back to it and did the same over the last 2-3 days as well. It does take some time, and because I usually get bored with a picture, I need those breaks in between working on something so big to draw smaller, faster pictures. Shadowstrider - her nose isa little crooked, I think; the shadow around the side of her nose may be a little dark as well. pixies- although I don't Darth Launch very well, I would find it quite interesting to see what happens if you were to draw Darth Malak. . . . Draken - Hey, great! Bastila wallpapers are always a good thing. Thanks for all the comments on the picture, everyone. Perhaps Carth should be the next character I attempt in this style. . . . .
  15. Its the final picture of the Bastila portrait I was working on: I could still spend more time on it, slowly refining every inch of her, but I think its time to finally call her "done". Some things were changed after listening to some of the comments here: the clothes stayed the same, but her arms and neck were "slenderized" a bit, and after examing her face in the reverse angle, I was able to see some assymmetry of her jawline, so that was corrected as well. The retro-robes were detailed a bit more and the hands were finished off (although they are still a bit rough). Anyway, I hope you enjoy! You can look at the pure white background version over at my site as well.
  16. Satasn, Draken_Fett -- yes, as I would have to agree with both of you. *smiles* Maybe a picture featuring male Revan and Bastila in a more intimate setting may have Bastila shedding some of her more restrictive clothing in favor of more comfortable ones. . . . I'll have to see what I can come up with.
  17. Zulu! Don't be so hard on yourself. I have a hard time with setting up a well composed drawing. I will draw a figure but will usually not put that figure in a setting. Which brings me to your drawing - Clearly, its Bastila with a determined expression on her face, the wind is whipping her clothes around, a torrential downpour is taking place. . . . the drawing shows a lot of emotion, Zulu. It tells a story. Look at Aimo's stuff - she is always telling a story with her pictures (its a force power, I 've determined). And with this last picture you have done the same. On a more general note to everyone who has been perusing this thread: since there has been some discussion about Bastila's attire, what was your favorite outfit to dress Bastila in? What made her look her best? Just asking for ideas for future pictures.
  18. Aimo, I may be repeating myself but I just wanted to say it here -- thanks for putting KNIGHTS into the pdf format, and thanks for sharing your wonderful art with us! I love your work.
  19. Musopticon? - Thanks for the comments/critiques. Believe me, I [rpbbably have a whole lot harsher things to say about my drawings than you do, I would imagine. About the robes, Bastila can wear a variety of outfits in the game, but I thought these were her base clothes, the ones that she is pictured in while fighting Revan? I wanted to picture her in these, regardless of overall aesthetics of the outfit, simply because I was going for the "standard" Bastila look. From my perspective, there are a number of things that need to be corrected before I would feel comfortable calling the picture finished, but I am curious what else you think is obvious that you did not want to metnion in your last post? I am always open to hear critiques about my artwork. And no, I have never done any game concept stuff. This is all just for fun. petay - Yes, her, how did you say? "collarbones"? yes, they are perhaps larger than what the game depicts, but it was a choice that was made. I am glad you like. zulu86 - I am looking forward to seeing your Bastila in her concept-art-esque outfit
  20. Ok, an updated picture of Bastila. Still unfinished, but I wanted to post one last work-in-progress before finishing it and putting it on the main site of kotorfanmedia. The face is changed a little, but the body is new. Almost every part of her needs to be finished up, but goodness, it takes a long time. . . . Hopefully I'll have her complete in a day or two more. . . .
  21. Draken, let me see what I can come up with. Are your fan fics on KotorFanmedia? Maybe I could read some of your stuff to get an idea of your character's personality (aside from being an evil Sith Lord of course. . . )
  22. Lord Satasn- Hey, I am am glad you like it! The added text looks good too! Glad I was able to visualize your character right the first time. Its hard to capture what people are looking for in a character drawing. Draken Fett - I suppose that depends what you are looking for. But it can take some time for me to get around to drawing a picture; just ask Lord Satasn. And thanks, Julian. Its a different style than my other pics, but with a Sith Lord, its always good to have a lot of black in the picure.
  23. Lord Satasn, here is your Dark Lord you were asking for. It took a couple of tries, but here it is. I am waiting to see the whole body picture finished by Sentry, but here is a closeup of him removing the hood on his cloak. . . .
  24. Hehe I just saw this. Nice one of HK! Great T3 up there, too! And Lord Satasn, I should have that Lord of Sith for you soon. . . .
  25. Great Malak picture Julian! And a nice Watanabe pic, too. The body of Bastila is being drawn from my imagination, but some of the proportions are certainly Monica Bellucci-esque.
