  1. Xoti showed zero interest in my character in 15 hours so far and I'm not romancing anyone. How did you manage that? She was thirsting over my character the moment they met. Maybe she doesn't like orlan that much? I never had her in the negative, but I did avoid picking "too nice" dialogue options early on if that makes sense. Then she is not into pale elves either, and neither any other companion. We must be doing something wrong here - or! - "complainers" do, because so far the only one actively inviting my character was a prostitute in a brothel. Exactly this!
  2. Thank you! So, my impression was correct: we have more cosmetic recognition of backgrounds but no more "must have" classes, likely in order to keep things interesting for everyone? Well then, it opens up some possibilities
  3. I thought I saw some topic about it but can not find anymore, so, starting a new one. The question is - is that kind of reactivity exists within quests? I still did not reach even the middle point of the main plot (heavy - and I mean HEAVY case of restartitism), but so far I do not see much influence of the class on the story. Sure, random NPC comment on your race (pure cosmetic recognition), your origin plays some role in dialogs, but what about your class? In PoE1, for example, it was important to have a cipher in your group (or better to be one) - that alone was opening a lot of quest options. Pale elves had the whole quest dedicated to them (as a race example). Here I do not see anything like it. I am not complaining - that kind of quest structure makes all classes/races equally useless valuable story-wise - just want to be sure it is the case and I should not bother to search anymore. So... Can some kind soul, that finished the game (probably even several times already with different characters) tell if there is a difference story-wise for different races/classes?
  4. Add another bug here: id you are sneaking in Fort Deadlight, he (Serafen) suddenly talks about one of his girlfriend (Zara?) that "he might a touch exaggerated and she in fact would not be so happy to see him" as if you previously had a dialog with him where he promised her help. Do you even get any dialog with Serafen before you reach Fort Deadlight?
  5. It seems that we agree that the current stash is unexplainable, that it was a pragmatic decision, and that they have to be made. For you this one is of no significance, for me it has little. So...yes;). We did? What is wrong with a bottomless bag of holding? We do have a magic world full of artifacts. And bags of holding is an old custom. Those having immersion problems are always free to ignore the stash, fill in their inventory only and continue to travel between loot and nearest merchant as many times as they want.
  6. With you on this in every word! BG characters did not have VA, they had one-liners, that were supposed to sum-up their characters in a few words. They were horribly repetitive and at the end quite annoying because of it. For the reason mentioned above have to disagree with that sentence - in BG I wanted to kill my lovely sister Imoen on her 10th "Hi, it's me, Imoen!". Same with "yes, oh omnipresent authority figure" and with all other one-liners. When it's too colorful (like in BG) it's getting old way too fast. Neutral "yes" - is much MUCH better on the long run. Love VA and only complain here is that some of them (like the one for Grieving Mother) sounds like it was recorded with a cell-phone in the middle of the big crowd. But the acting is still perfect!
  7. Would that recommendation be the same for someone who does not care about difficulty but only the story? PoE is far (very far) from linear script but there is a logic in quests order - like, you do not feel well hence do want to get to Od Nua as fast as you can without wandering around.
  8. Also remember that but the answer here at that moment had nothing to do with events before. No, seriously, I think there was a quest about elemental forges (they ARE elemental - fire, wind, earth water) liked to that chained skeleton. Or at least some book, journal or something like that around explaining both forges and skeletons and linking it to Gabrannos. And for some reason it was lost in the final version (or beta, or even alpha). Glad I did not miss anything and it's really simply not there.
  9. No, I did not miss THAT. All admiration of Engwithans in general and Gabrannos personally. What I DID miss - is when and why his view changed? Skeleton did not talk to us - he was just a skeleton. There was nothing in the dungeon indicating Engwithans are monsters or that Gabrannos committed some atrocious experiments. All that happen - we found an old animated skeleton in a place where Gabrannos could potentially rest in peace. What made Kana say all that things he said I do not understand. In fact, every line of that dialog looks like a big part is missing. Could some quest be cut off? Together with the meaning for the forges? Because another line of dialog from us is "You said Gabrannos was a master of elements" - also totally out of the blue. So far to me it does look like a cut off quest and not corrected dialogs.
  10. Thank you! Then it's my curse - silent remarks and banters. I wish chat window would automatically switch to "chat" from "combat" to let me see when someone says something. Still don't get the part about "sick experiments" and Gabrannos being a madman.
  11. Could someone please explain what happens there? I mean, I understand the main part about plate being destroyed, but the dialog sounded like I missed a long explanation previously. On the way to the tablet Kana told me about existence of Gabrannos and that he might leave his library or something here. All good, so far I understand. But then on that lvl 7 with tablet and pointless forges we open a door, kill a sceleton and Kana bursts into rage and grieve "No, it can not be Gabrannos ! How could he make all these horrible experiments"! And one of my answer is - "he was just a madman". By the flames, what are we talking about?! There were just regular monsters on the way there, nothing mentioning Gabrannos or his work. And no indication, btw, that the sceleton is indeed Gabrannos himself - how on earth did he recognise him?! What did I miss here? And how?! P.S. And another question - what is the point of activationg those 4 forges on that level?
  12. And the point is missed. But who cares? You have your game copy - unleash your justice on that scumbag and embrace your inner hero!
  13. 1. He did not do it for fun, rape or not it had only one purpose - to get a child of his blood. Yes, nobody cared about her wishes - and? This is time of arranged marriages, nobody ever asked opinions of brides-to-be, a lot of them (nobles I mean) were engaged the day they were born. 2. "She looked bad because she had morning sickness" =/= "fool of fear". People frightened to the degree that this is the only thought in their had do not plan escapes. 3. Your imagination only. People mention she looked sick (and apothecary girl explains about the reason for that - pregnancy). It's Ok to pity an unmarried pregnant girl. Such cases are never happy stories. Has nothing to do with the Lord to be any kind extreme. Most logic explanation - girl got pregnant and very, very unhappy father bought a husband for her to cover up the shame. Very common story. Explains jealousy and anger of the cult - nobody covers up same situation for slave-girls, they are simply used. Oh, and can you tell me what other purpose do you think noble girls had in their life? If they did not get any specific training (like our poor girl)? 4. Again, your imagination. All we know is "father" found a husband for her and was going to take care about the baby. Otherwise there were no reason to drug her out of home. Yes, she was a tool. All not independent (in she was not) women were. Your point? In this world the are no social services, no juvenile justice organisations, no "rights for ..." basically anyone. Physical punishments for kids, public executions, the law of the mighty - and you expect someone to care about feelings? She was alive, she was taken care of - it's more than thousands of others could tell. Again, another reason for the cult to be envy and angry and to kill the girl and her family.
  14. Even so, it was not like he was eating slaves for breakfast and drinking blood of unborn babies. He is not as monstrous as cultists presented. Until that point the cult was about slaves and their masters - and was even understandable. But here it looked like clear interfering with domestic matter, where they had no business at all. They used a frightened pregnant (double unstable) girl to kill yet another noble, which did not do anything to them. Cultists could not even use her hatred - she had none, they infused her with hatred of others toward other people. What do we know for sure? There is a noble girl, raised exclusively for one purpose - to marry a noble man and give him his heir. (We know she is not a warrior, priest or anything) Outside that task she simply would not be able to survive, as pi2repsion pointed out. The lord did a really bad thing but it did not change anything in her life, except she potentially would become more rich, since uncle would leave everything to her baby. And the thing he did - as horrible as it could be - others on a daily basis did/do worse. He did not deserve the faith cult intended for him.
  15. This. Looks like that lord was going to make that baby his heir, he was not going to kill the girl or something. For Medieval times he did not do anything extraordinary. While cultist are brutal even for that times. They sure did not deserve to live - and lord is punished enough. Should there be the ending - "kill the lord and give everything to the cured girl" - that would be even better. But since it's not possible, I see no reason to just kill the guy. Actually, you have the option to send her to the Berath temple. Looks to me like the best outcome, considering the logical "kill the uncle and get his money" or "go for arranged marriage and enjoy his money through your baby" - does not exist).
  16. They pretty much said "the cruicible Knights won't like it". That's it. So no, it's NOT clear. Not in the least. Why am I, a neutral mercenray, suiddenly personana non-grata? Why the hell id it an insourmantable obstacle, when I have a excellent relations with the Knights? A fetch/exploration job is treated as a decelaration of utter loyalty. How can one expect loyalty out of me when I was never invited to be part of the group to bein with? there never was a "Do you want to join us?" with the knights. And the Dozen seem like a loose group. They organize contracts and expeditions, so how is "Hey, do you need a extra hand on one of the expeditions?" the same as "I'm loyal to you and only to you!" To be fair - you are exact;y as you said, a GOOD NEUTRAL mercenary to them. Someone they can trust (if payment is good, they understand that part about you) with something simple, yet not devoted to their course to the degree to have nothing with other factions. I think it's very PR.
  17. Sorry, but have to ask that can YOU "supply me a list or number of how many women were horrified by the idiot in the shirt" ? Not to mention you labeled a big scientist as an "idiot" for his clothes choice, while you have absolutely no idea about the reason behind that choice. And that could be anything - from "lucky short" for an important event to "my wife gave it to me and I want to show how much I love here by wearing it on a big public event". P.S. Just in case - a woman here, scientist, very offended by forced association her with mobs bashing a fellow scientist for his taste in clothes.
  18. Would not call it a banter - just comments and comments do happen anywhere. But dialogs between companions I saw only in the city. Hope, LadyCrimson is right and I just missed it rather than have a bug.
  19. Is it me (my game, mods or anything) or voiced party banter really happen only in Defiance Bay? Have not heard any before that.
  20. Stuck with the quest. I talked to Penhelm, visited Kurren, learned about forgery and Quest Journal suggests to "Show the affidavit to Commander Clyver". Neither Penhelm nor Commander Clyver have any dialog option about forgery. I read on forums that Penhelm was supposed to wait outside of the Hadret House but he did not. What went wrong? And how can I progress?
  21. The tip is good but windows switch automatically during combat - to combat log, and never back. So after EACH fight we have to remember to switch back to dialog window, otherwise all non-voiced banter (happens way to often) are missed, at least for me. Any chance to add an option "always keep dialog window on unless fighting"? Not to mention fixing that baubles I personally never saw.
  22. Another door to report - if you try to reach the dungeon with Osria after you talked to Nedmar, the only door leading there is unclick-able. Can try go through the sewer, I guess, but it's not funny.
  23. So much hostility, why? All OP suggested is to make modders life easier. As nobody forces anyone to use custom portraits in game, same way nobody would force anyone to use audio files. There are people out there who love Voice Acting as a hobby (check Nexus). Should a feature like that be implemented in the game (any game) we would get tons of audio mods for different characters. All for those who WANT to install them. Why is it bad?
  24. Second to this. I know now that Edér & Aloth are both voiced by the same actor - Matthew Mercer and Calisca is Cindy Robinson but what about others?
  25. There could be one simple solution about keeping OP skills and exploits - to make any patch optional. Although, Steam does not allow it for some reason (the only thing Origin does better).
