  1. A formal Bio lab report examining the concept of etiolation and the effect of lack of sunlight on plant structure.
  2. :joy:
  3. I like Ramen noodles myself.
  4. *nudge* I think Kum was joking too.
  5. I strongly believe Roethlisberger could have the potential to be a top-ten QB. The guy has been through a lot, though. You can't expect a guy to come off a potentially-deadly motorcycle crash, an appendectomy, and a concussion and expect him to be 100%. He also tends to make mistakes whenever he feels too pressured to throw the ball, no doubt something that contributed to his numerous interceptions this season. I also strongly believe the Steelers could have come out this season with a 6-1 record (the loss being to Jacksonville) if only they got their act together. You'll notice in a lot of those games they ended up leading in the first half only to run out of steam in the second half. It could be argued the Steelers should have won the falcons game if not for Washington flinching and causing a false-start, thus eliminating a game-saving field goal. As for the Raiders game *grumbles*, had it not been for two very costly interceptions and some very harsh penalties (a 30-yrd penalty drive, for example), they would have probably won that game as well. In short, I think the big reason for the sloppy season can be summed up in one word: turnovers. While it's tempting to blame Roethlisberger, it's not all his fault. The Steelers are not a one-man team, like the Colts. As of right now though, I don't really care if the Steelers make it to the playoffs or even the Superbowl this year. If they just get their act together and play like the team we saw the past two years, I'll be satisfied.
  6. I meant it more as an and/or statement. You'll have to forgive my grammar, I'm a little buzzed right now. As much as I'd hate to admit it, the chances of the Steelers making the playoffs this year are minimal, let alone them making it to the Superbowl. I don't know what their problem is, but this is just not the same team we've seen the last two years. Some of their previous losses I could stomach, but the Raiders? How in the hell do you lose to a team like the ****ing Raiders? Now those limp **** probably feel like they actually have something between their legs. I don't know what's going on. And don't tell me it's because they suck, because they don't. They won the Superbowl, for crying out loud. Well, every team has a bad season. Looks like the Steelers are having one.
  7. Sorry to be way off topic, but is that a self photo? Because whoever is in that pic is too good looking to be a member of these forums. EDIT: I see it is, having seen your profile. Welcome, BTW. Provided the Colts don't choke in the playoffs again this year, I could see them going to the Superbowl. Them or the Bears. (shut up, Kumquat) As much as I may dislike the Colts, I do have the utmost respect for Peyton Manning. Actually, the only quarterback I have a genuine dislike of is Carson Palmer. (and that's putting it lightly)
  8. Why don't you go ask him for us, then? "
  9. No, not even close. Would it be know what I'm thinking right now? The last time you felt hungry for a steak? Or an argument that two random Roman soldiers had about whether or not Hannibal would attack? You see what I mean? Omnipotence means omnipotence.

  11. I see. Well, while I'd like to continue this discussion, I am a busy man and I have a lot of work I should be doing. So I'll bid all of you goodnight. Keep it civil, children.
  12. ... That's beside the point, and now you're just being silly. But you're saying you find the concept of God hiding his divinity and trying to be appear as a human funny? I don't see how that's so unrealistic, but okay.
  13. Why? Jesus is not a half-God the way you're implying.
  14. For starters, whether or not you want to believe Jesus was divine is really up to your interpretation. The case can be made either way. But during his life on earth, the Bible strongly implies that Jesus did not want anyone to know of his divine nature. That in a way would defeat his purpose. You could almost say he was acting a part, even up till his death. But as I said, it is difficult to explain. This would best be discussed some other time. To put it lightly...No [excrement], Sherlock. But I'd be happy to see what examples you have in mind. Through PM. I've seen that list before, BTW. Most of its examples are weak or ambiguous and not actual contradictions.
  15. Obviously... "
  16. Woah! Your logic (or lack thereof) blows me out of the water! Everything Jesus did he did for a reason. You'll also notice in the Bible (if you've even picked one up) that he does in fact say that he and God are the same person. You'll notice that Jesus went to the Synagogues on the Sabbath day as well. Bottom line is, he did everything to set an example and to teach humans how to live, even right down to his death. As for the whole crucifixion thing, it's a very deep concept that can't be explained easily. But it involves God taking sin onto himself, lowering himself so that he could get close to humans and vice-versa, to take the punishment for himself so that we wouldn't have to. Watch Chronicles of Narnia sometime. " Or try researching it for yourself, if you can be bothered to do so. So you still think of it that way, despite the mounting evidence that it's not? Whatever. Believe what you want to believe, but you're not thinking this through logically. Using your logic, then that should mean that my dressing up in different costumes and acting a different way makes me a different person. Or that in the Genesis story, Satan manifesting himself as a snake makes him a different person. Correct?
  17. If that were true though, that would then make Hinduism a monotheistic religion. Unless each god has a separate conscience, then that would make them separate entities regardless of their origin. You might also find it interesting that some people don't consider Hinduism a polytheistic religion.
  18. It's not polytheistic. In Hinduism, there are gods that are distinctly separate entities. That does make it polytheistic. In Christianity, it's one God with one soul who supposedly manifests in 3 different forms. That does not make it polytheistic.
  19. If one God manifests himself in three different forms, how is that polytheistic? It's still the same God; same spirit. Just three different forms. That's not polytheistic. It would be polytheistic if each God were a separate entity in itself.
  20. Not if it's the same God.
  21. Just downloaded and am using Firefox 2.0. I gotta say, I wish I had downloaded it earlier. And unlike Netscape, they actually release the Mac versions of their updates at the same time as the PC versions.
  22. That's not really possible given today's society. And I don't see any reason why someone should be forced to keep his or her religious views to himself. You might as well say one should keep all his or her personal opinions to himself. As long as they don't constantly harass someone, I don't see the reason. Besides, Muso does have a point. You've been guilty of many of the same things you criticize religious folk for. I know what you're gonna say, every Christian you've met is an ****, you just had to throw out a Christian from your store for trying to convert someone the other day, blah blah blah. Save it. Point is, as long as you have that mentality, nobody can take you seriously. Still incapable of carrying on intelligent conversation, even as an Obsidian VIP!
  23. Total annihilation in other words. Or genocide, if you will. Either way, that still would not eliminate it. You would always have extremists, many of whom do not fear death. Such a thing might only strengthen it by provoking outrage. In actuality, the only thing that could possibly defeat a bad idea is a better idea. To convert your enemy, not kill him (a la 1984).
  24. Genesis - Land of Confusion ^^ That would've given me nightmares when I was six.
