It says this ^ at the top of the site. Open up Explorer or My Computer. Find the Kotor 2 install directory. See if there is a folder called Override. If there isn't, then make a new folder called Override. Next, go to the patch you downloaded for the Mira Spacesuit fix. Right-click on it and select extract. When it asks you where to extract it to, find the Override folder. Then it should work. I haven't actually done this myself, so if someone who has experience with these patches can correct me, please do so.

I played it on a laptop without any problems like that. I used a real mouse, not the touch pad or joystick in the keyboard that comes with the laptop. Maybe your laptop's touchpad is acting up and making the game think that you are giving commands that you aren't giving. Try using a real mouse, and if you already are, maybe you can disable your touchpad while you are playing the game.

It's not like Lucas Arts isn't willing to devote the time or money to creating a patch because of poor Kotor II sales. There already *is* a patch. They are just sitting on it, so that is taking lack of customer service too far. Does Lucas Arts have to pay to give the patch to gaming sites to host? I don't think so, and if they don't have to pay for that, why don't they just release the patch already?

I had a bug where HK-47's alignment kept showing up as what it was originally. However, a few times right after I loaded, it showed his alignment where I thought it should be based on my influence with him. Then, later, it went back to its original starting position. I couldn't figure out how to fix this, but at least you aren't the only one with that sort of problem... EDIT: I was playing the PC version without the patch (the patch caused other problems for me and wouldn't let me play the game for "security" reasons despite the fact that I was using the original CD's that I paid $50 for )

hanhar,twin suns,mira?
WraithStar replied to Weaponmaster303's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Do you mean you have a glitch where the game is frozen or you can't do anything? If you are on Nar Shadaa you have at least another planet to go through (after you find all of the Jedi Masters). What's supposed to happen is the squid-guy Hanharr is working for asks to meet the Exile in the Jek-Jek-Tarr. Has that occurred yet? -
dueling vs 2 weapon fighting?
WraithStar replied to Solar Xero's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
From the movies I got the impression that most people use only one lightsaber because it is safer. Most people aren't ambidextrous, so they don't use two sabers, and it takes great skill to wield a double-bladed staff so they don't use double-bladed sabers. I seem to remember someone in the movies referring to Darth Maul's saber and saying it is very aggressive and powerful but most people would probably cut themselves in half with it. Revan and the Exile are supposed to be very powerful ex-Jedi so it makes sense that they would have trained to use the more dangerous weapons. As for the other party members, it's an RPG and you can decide which weapons to give them according to how you think they should be. -
Why is the ending disliked???
WraithStar replied to Weaponmaster303's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I liked the game overall. My problem with the ending is that it left me feeling hollow. I wasn't looking for things that they "should have done" and trying to find things to complain about...It's just that after reading the cut content everything made so much more sense. They either should have left some scenes in (with a few modifications, depending on how much they still wanted to leave out) or they should have gotten rid of a few extraneous scenes that didn't lead anywhere now that the ending has been altered. Specifically I will give a few examples: 1. The most obvious is the HK factory. From what I understand it's almost completed and I wish they had included it. Anyhow, for whatever reason let's say it absolutely had to be cut. They shouldn't have had HK-47 tell the player that he can triangulate the location of the factory. They should have had a quick cutscene or something to explain everything instead of building up to a mission that never happened. For instance, if there is a mandatory cutscene where Go-to reveals to the player that the factory is on Telos and then the player informs to the Republic fleet to bomb it. It shouldn't take too much time to do that and it would leave me with the sense that the problem is dealt with. 2. The next most obvious is the remote's role on Malachor V. We have the remote power up the Mass Shadow Generator, Go-to appears and threatens the remote, and then we never find out what happens. As a DS presumably we don't give the order and as a LS presumably the remote beats Go-to in a firefight. There is no way I can believe that the remote can beat Go-to in combat. The cut content had a scene with HK-47, HK-50's and HK-51's that resolved this. I understand that without the HK factory this scene couldn't happen. So, instead of cutting it entirely, they should have had HK-47 show up alone and shoot Go-to. That would explain how the remote survived without bringing up further questions. 3. It is a big deal that the Ebon Hawk is destroyed and then magically reappears. I mean, the name of the FMV is even "the death of the Ebon Hawk." They either should have cut that FMV completely or they should have had a brief explanation of what happened. Say maybe the player is in Trayus Academy and Atton says over the com-link, "We just took a pretty bad hit but thanks to my fine piloting abilities we didn't crash. T3 and Bao-dur say that the ship will be ready to fly in a little bit." 4. Then, as people have remarked before, what is Mira doing on the surface? Something should have come of her duel with Hanharr. A brief addition to the in-game ending could have easily fixed this. Let's say that just before the exile gives the command for the MSG, Mira finds the exile. Then as the Academy is falling (for LS), Mira leads the exile where Atton has landed the Ebon Hawk. If the player is DS, then Mira just shows the player where Atton parked the ship since he had to move it earlier. That would feel much more complete without having to use all of the cut material. 5. The final point I will make is that the ending could have felt so much more fulfilling if there had been a very simple cutscene after the Ebon Hawk leaves M5 (which would be in both cases, whether or not the exile destroyed the planet). The player could be in the main area of the Ebon Hawk will all of the NPC's gathered there. There could be a brief conversation where the exile says basically, "We've come a long way but the adventure is just beginning." (Alright, maybe that sounds a little corny but you get the idea). Just something to see the NPC's one last time and have a sense that the exile's journey isn't over yet but without leaving the players wondering what happened. In short, my problem with the ending is not exactly that so much material was cut but that the way that they cut the material left a lot of plot holes and unanswered questions. It is very frustrating because most of those questions could be answered with a few short cutscenes or com-link exchanges. -
The Reason why Kriea didn't kill the exile
WraithStar replied to mrchallenge's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
In some of the cut dialogue with Master Vash, she talks about her apprentice. Apparently her apprentice fell to the dark side and that severed the bond with her. Applying this to the Kreia/Exile bond, throughout the game Kreia is exactly neutral. Then, suddenly, she goes DS to fulfill the role of Darth Traya. This was probably enough to break the bond she had with the exile. -
what was your chars name in kotor2
WraithStar replied to JediMasterNalik's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I used the random name generator several times and then picked my favorite first name and my favorite last name of the ones that came up. K1: LSF- Oriana Rahab DSM- Aiden Star K2: LSF- Kyra Torassa DSM- Ralo Vorak -
Dark Side easier ? I don't think so.
WraithStar replied to ukplankton's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Cool...I've never lost *that* much influence with someone because I was trying to gain high influence with everyone. I'll have to keep that in mind. As far as the game mechanics go, I think it is much easier to be DS because force crush is so powerful against the final three bosses. Also, it costs less force points to use force storm as a DS character (although that didn't stop me from using it as a LS character too :D ) The game itself feels as if it was designed with a LS male character in mind. Playing as a female exile with a female Revan the dialogue often got confused and referred to them as male characters. It is much easier to get LS points than DS points in the game. Not all DS characters are mindlessly belligerent and insult everything in sight and not all polite characters are LS... If you are trying to gain DS mastery the game seems to encourage you to be self-destructively stupid. Some of the other party members still act "good" when they have DS mastery. In terms of actually being able to role-play being evil, I found the decisions in Kotor I to be much more sickening. Granted I may have missed some things in Kotor II but there was nothing that truly made me hate my own character. Kotor I had several such things that I can remember and I haven't played it in months. -
My favorite romantic interest from both Kotor's so far is Atton (note: HK-47 is not a romantic interest ) As my LS female character I had a romance with Atton. All it showed were a few scenes where my character discussed men with Mira, Atton asked Bao-dur if he had a chance with me, and Mira scolded Atton for watching me meditate. As my DS male, I had pretty high influence with both Visas and the Handmaiden. I got both of them to DS mastery. Their skin gets a little pale and chalky-looking and they get dark grey veins showing through. Also, their lipstick looks darker. Atton, also at DS mastery, really creeped me out. I still took him with me but I equipped him with a visor so I didn't have to see what I did to him... As far as Mandalore not being a romantic interest, I have two theories on that: a) Mandalore wouldn't waste time with romance when he's got the entire Mandalorian race to revive and b) probably Obsidian or LA are planning to use Mandalore in Kotor III and they don't want to have to go through scripting one set of dialogue if there was a romance and another if there wasn't.

I got this error too The patch had extra "security features" in it that didn't agree with my machine so I ended up reinstalling the game without the patch. Then it worked fine for me. I did get some bugs but from reading through some of the threads here, the patch wouldn't have fixed them anyway. I would suggest just reinstalling the game and forgetting about the patch for now.
