Oh, Playstation, you try your hardest to make me annoyed with you. I'm trying to re-download all the extra DLCs for various games on my old system to my new one, but each time I get the "waiting to install" message. When I click on "start", it then tells me that the application is not available and to check the Sony Store. Even when I do that and download it directly from the store, it still sits in my queue as "waiting to install". I've looked up quite a few fixes online, tried them, and it still doesn't seem to work.

Finished Uncharted The Lost Legacy. Pretty good overall. The end was the typical run and gun marathon. Minor issue: unskippable credits. Can't fast forward them, can't skip them outright, and they take forever. Had to sit through like 20 minutes of credits just to make sure I saw all remaining cutscenes. So annoying.

I think I'm nearing the end of Uncharted: The Lost Legacy. I'm not looking forward to whatever last "boss fight" is waiting for me. Hate boss fights in most games.

I started reading Robin Hobbs' Liveship Traders series. I remembered what it was that bothered me so much about her writing. 1-She writes walls and walls of text. Too often, for my own tastes, it's not broken up by dialogue or even smaller descriptions. She'll write page after page of just giant paragraphs of description or inner thoughts. As someone who enjoys the ability to kind of read a few pages and then put the book down, hers make it near impossible to do this as her walls of unbroken text go on and on. 2-In order to push plots along, she constantly has the characters act in the most idiotic way possible, and do the most obvious things. One part in question at the point I'm at: Two characters go on at length to discuss to the third character how important it is to NOT OPEN THE BOX. DO NOT OPEN THE BOX. So guess what happens? The third character has no problem getting a hold of the box and opens it. Hobbs does this too often in her books in order to push a plot along, and it's annoying as a reader. Unfortunately for me, I'm a bit of a completionist so I'll slog through the rest of the novel, but right now I just want to toss it aside.

I'm shocked that halfway through Uncharted right when I finished the first big "tomb" the big bad guy shows up. Shocked, I tell you.

Fallout, especially any made by Bethesda, is a game I learned never to care much about the plot. The main stories, by and large, were very meh. On the flip side, that's one of the reasons I can't replay Bethesda games. They're fun the first time through when I'm still exploring their sandbox, but for replays I need to be drawn into the story.

Maybe it was just me, but I could never get the buildings to look right. The walls and floors sometimes didn't match up, especially if the floor wasn't sitting on perfectly level ground. My structures looked like someone playing The Sims after finishing an entire bottle of whiskey.

Every time I play one of these games with "hidden treasures", I end up missing half of them. Largely because a lot of them seem to be in areas where you can miss because the main story is forcing you to run fast through that section (guys shooting at you) or because you have to randomly check every nook and cranny. UC: The Lost Legacy, I got like the first 4 in a row, then I've missed it seems every second one.
-
I actually thought UC4 dragged at times. The middle chapters could have been condensed a bit, IMO. Overall, though, a good game.

UC: The Lost Legacy was one of my impulse buys. It was on sale during Black Friday, so it's the first game I popped in when I got my new PS4 Pro up and running. I'm very early in, though, so I don't really have an opinion on it yet.
-
PS4 Pro finally arrived. Now to open the box to make sure they didn't send me a broken copy.
-
Now we know what username Harvey Weinstein posts under on here! [/too soon?]
-
The universe is taunting me. All the games I ordered (from Amazon) on Black Friday have arrived already, but I'm still waiting on the actual console (from Best Buy) that I got on Black Friday to arrive.
-
Think I'm going to replay The Last of Us until my new system arrives. It's the only game on my old system that's actually fully digital and thus, I don't need access to the broken disc drive to use.
-
No wonder Best Buy is losing out to Amazon. I made two purchases last Thursday (midnight, so technically Black Friday). A bunch of games from Amazon and a PS4 Pro from Best Buy. The order from Amazon arrived today, while the Best Buy order is still "in progress" and hasn't even shipped from their warehouse yet. Lesson learned.
-
I still haven't gotten around to playing it yet. Come to think of it, I didn't even finish the original PoE campaign. I know, I'm a terrible Obsidianite.
-
Good luck with that you brave, foolish man.
-
Play through as Emily first. New set of powers, and IMO, a more intriguing take on things.
-
I took it "easy" and "only" bought two games. That's what I originally intended to do. But then I saw a bunch of games that were on sale for like half their regular price and was like, "gotta do it before they go back up in price". That's why I end up with such a massive backlog of un-played games. I buy too many during sales, then never have the time to play them all.
-
The downside of Black Friday sales: I end up buying games I'm only semi-interested in, all because they're half price and I feel like I'm getting a huge deal.
-
Best Buy and Amazon both have the PS4 Pro on sale for $399.99, down $100 from the regular price of $499.99 right now. I decided to go ahead and bite the bullet and get it since I'm saving $100.

RANDOM VIDEO GAME NEWS - 'NON-FAKE-NEWS EDITION'
GhostofAnakin replied to Rosbjerg's topic in Computer and Console
I think they were pretty good about it the last time they made the proclamation. All those free DLCs for TW3 would have cost fans like $5 each from EA. -
Eff you, Sony. It doesn't look like the PS4 Pro will be one of the items on sale for Black Friday in any of the places near me.

What is your game of the year for 2017?
GhostofAnakin replied to SonicMage117's topic in Computer and Console
I was actually disappointed in it. I thought the first one was better and the second seemed a watered down version that sacrificed overall quality to one story for the ability to play through as two different characters (but where everything other than powers was basically the same).
