  1. Fallout 76 seems to be getting hammered in reviews. Good thing I saw that before buying it. It was one of the few newer games that was actually on sale for Black Friday.
  2. So ... I was hoping joining the Outlaws would be much more involved. Instead, it was basically some minor fetch quests and a large scale battle to move up the ranks. No real "story quests". Back to just wandering Magalan.
  3. I found that traversing the city as Spidey was more fun than the stuff in the Arkham games as Batman. I also enjoyed the main story in Spider-Man more than the most recent Arkham Knight game. The side content in Arkham City, IMO, is superior to either, however.
  4. I know they probably did it so you don't miss out on much content, but I think one of the problems with Elex and you still getting access to 99% of the quests no matter which faction you join is there's not much replayability that I've found. Apart from the faction-specific quests to move up the faction rank, my play through as an Outlaw mirrors almost exactly my play through as a Cleric.
  5. What a disappointing Black Friday. None of the games I want to buy were put on sale.
  6. I tried to do a second play through, this time joining the Outlaws. But that's stalled for two reasons. One, holy hell the Outlaw-specific abilities suck compared to the ones you get as a Cleric or Berserker. And two, you can't do any of their quests or pretty much any quests near or around the Fort early in the game, so I pretty much have to spend my time doing Berserker stuff until I reach a decent level. I don't know if I have the patience for that.
  7. ^I looked online and it seems like you need a high cold level (ie. Jax needs to lack emotion and be all about logic) for him to survive, but I can't find the exact cold level you need. I guess either I'll just have to go ahead with the story with him being killed, or I'll have to spend the next few hours (game-wise) chugging elex potions to increase my cold level.
  8. Question for the Elex folks: A bit of metagaming here, but what cold level do you have to be for Kallax to not die in the fight? I'm intuitive (one below neutral, I believe) and he dies every time I fight him.
  9. I've leveled up my character's stats to where I can use the Redeemer plasma rifle. It's damn good at mowing down even the toughest enemies. There's one that's got even better damage stats (my strength isn't enough to use it yet), but I don't know how good it actually is.
  10. I've found zero that weren't already unlocked for me in Chapter 1. Yes, some of them required me to be higher level before doing them, but other than main story stuff, faction-related stuff, or companion stuff, I haven't come across a single side quest that wasn't there way back in the first part of the game.
  11. Are there seriously no more side quests that pop up after Chapter 2 begins in Elex? Did I seriously uncover all of them already while traveling around in Chapter 1? If so, that's really bad pacing. I was able to complete pretty much every one of those sidequests prior to even beginning Chapter 2, so now I've literally only got the main story missions to do the rest of the way.
  12. Heh, typical game cliche. Playing more Elex, met Ulbricht for the first time. Suddenly he puts me in charge of finding a commander to lead his forces in a major offensive. "Hey Stan..." "It's Dan." "Right, right. It's nice to meet you. Anyway, Don, I trust you with the future of this world so I'm gonna leave you in charge of picking the person to fill the most important role in this upcoming offensive. Think you're up to it?" "Actually, I was just walking around trying to steal items to sell .." "That's okay. Finish that, then go find a commander for me. Alright, Ian?" "It's Dan."
  13. So do the raids and other MP stuff require organized groups? Or is it like Warframe where you just get tossed in a mission with a bunch of randoms and you just make it work. I rather dislike multiplayer modes/games where things revolve around a so-called "meta", that's just a recipe for toxicity (reason I've not killed many Eidolons in Warframe, kinda requires an organized group for the harder ones). I honestly can't recall the specifics of the Raids. I do remember one time I tried one and I ended up having to solo it (can't recall if it was because they didn't match me up with anyone or because you have to bring your own friends because there's no "match making") and quit because it was impossible. MP works just like any other CoD style MP where you get put on random teams of other players in the lobby.
  14. ^I'm one of the few who actually preferred Destiny 1's story to the second one. Neither were great, IMO, but the first one just seemed more interesting. I usually get tired of Destiny after a while because I'm not into MP, so I don't do the raids or play the MP modes. Unless it's SP content, I don't really bother with it.
  15. Now that I only seem to have the main storyline quests to do in Elex, I'm finding myself finally just wandering around the world on foot, checking out the various ruins and broken buildings. I couldn't do this earlier because every enemy I came across would kick my ass before. Now, at least, I can pretty much handle any of them with relative ease.
  16. It will be interesting to see what kinds of games Obsidian makes now.
  17. Yeah, it definitely seems like I "unlocked" most side quests in Chapter 1. Because the only quests that are popping up now are either associated with the main storyline, or Cleric-specific stuff that lead to me going up in rank among the Clerics. Literally the only quests available to me now that don't fit into one of those two categories are the ones I haven't completed yet from earlier.
  18. I think I found all the side quests in Elex right away because I'm in Chapter 2 now and there's nothing new popping up other than the quests associated with the main storyline.
  19. Not sure if it's a bug or what in Elex, but my companions don't seem to want to go to Origin when I tell them "go to Origin". They just keep returning to the original "small camp".
  20. Weird ... quests in Abessa are being cancelled if I teleport anywhere, but remain active as long as I just travel by foot.
  21. So I'm doing the Clerics quest in Elex, the one about the chem dealer thing. I've got all the reports from the guards, I found that dude in the other fort, but my character hasn't narrowed down his suspicions to the actual guilty party, like he was able to do during the Berserker quest with Duras. I'm reading the reports, but none of the reports seem to be obvious about who the guilty party is, and my character can basically choose all three with no reasons given for why they are guilty (or not guilty).
  22. I hate the fact some of these Tavar quests require me to kill someone, when I'm trying to play as non-violent as possible. There don't seem to be any "charm" options to solve the quests peacefully.
  23. Especially in this game, where literally no enemies just stand still. Timed grenades only work on the first lob. After that, the enemy has a tendency to jump out of the way before it detonates. The impact ones are fantastic as an equalizer when your character still is so weak he can only take 2 hits before dying.
  24. One other minor issue I have with Elex. For some reason, it defaults to the "timed' grenades when I use hand grenades. It's cost me valuable ammo AND health in battle because I'll toss a grenade or two only to realize it's not set to explode on impact. One would think the default would be explode on impact, then having to R1 over to the timed option. But no, instead for whatever reason the timed grenades are the default and I have to R1 over to the impact ones.
  25. More Elex. I think I've exhausted the quests I can accomplish at my current level, so I might as well join a faction. I'm thinking the Clerics mainly because I like their weapons and their armor looks the best. The latter is obviously nothing to do with power and everything to do with wanting to walk around in cool looking armor.
