Needs some help...
6 Foot Invisible Rabbit replied to 6 Foot Invisible Rabbit's topic in Pen-and-Paper Gaming
Well, my group might. My group is full of college educated peeps. I have 2 graphic designers, a geneticist, agricultural engineer, psychology major (still in school), and well... my roommate. At one time I also had an astrophysicist, and a mathematician studying chaos theory. -
He did right in Afganistan till he decided to invade Iraq.

Live it to the Republicans to drag us into another Vietnam/Korea. If there is civil war I hope Bushie does the smart thing and pull our troops out of there. If the Kurds, Shiites, and Sunnis want to kill each other I say let them.

I think that of nearly everyone.

Okay, okay. Thanks for the links. I didgive Google and Yahoo a try first but I wasn't finding anything particular that I needed though I did find some cool pics of nebulas and articles on astronomy. Also a thing called Drake's Law. Very cool stuff. -
I just think it is stupid to expect a game that has been optimized to run on NVidia to run perfectly on a ATI card. I expect games to be bug free on a console. There is only one official version of the X Box. Only one version of the Game Cube. Only One version of the PS2. When you have consistant hardware it is easy to make bugfree games. On the PC you don't have consistant hardware or hell, OSes. Some people use Windows 98, Windows NT, Windows XP Home, Windows ME, Windows XP Pro, blah blah blah and so forth. With the all so many combinations of video cards, CPUs, RAM types, sound cards, and the like I tend to be a little more lenient on PC games than Consoles when it comes to bugs. A bug on a console is unforgivable due to its conformity of design. If the game gets proper post release support then a bug or three is acceptable.

That is hard to do for most cases Shadowpaladin. An X Box only has one possible and supported configuration. A PC has dozens and dozens of different combinations of hardware. Expecting a PC to work like a console is stupid.

What? No one can help me find a star map? -
Civil War is inevitable. George W. Bush is an idiot for not realizing that nothing breeds more hate than religion and their is quite a level of animosity between the Sunni and Shiites.

I haven't but my roommate has. He plays a lot of RTS type games. He seems to not like it.

What was really fun was when the players decide to use some of the netherese weaponry. You see a good chunk of Netherese weaponry were bioorganic in nature yet gain their energy from a mythomir powre source. Their starcrafts use mythomir power system which transmits that energy to their personal equipment. Well, the party was able to get their equipment but the netherese ship left so they had all this kickarse gear but no power, but they had no idea that it had no power. Lets just say the next fight they were in was quite interesting.
-
In a Forgotten Realms "what if" campaign I had a several Netherese enclaves survive the cataclysm of the Fall of Netheril. Their leader used portals to transport the survivors to a continent far from the Realms. They didn't loose their knowledge of magic, power, and technology. Netherese magitech was quite advance and over the next thousand or so years they developed starcraft, personal weaponry that shoot beams of magical energy, and magically powered prosthetics. They also had quite a nasty disposition.

Volo's point isn't flawed. Volo is flawed, but then again aren't we all.

All I need is a small kitchen, a living room, a bathroom with a shower in it, and a single bedroom. Everything else is just gravy.

I am currently working on my next campaign but I am having a bit of trouble trying to find a pretty accurate star map of our galaxy that shows Earth's location in relation to the other stars. If anyone can help in this I would highly appreciate it. Specifically a map that shows the locations of Beta Canum Venaticorum, HD 10307, HD 211415, 18 Scorpii, 51 Pegasus, Epsilon Indi A, Epsilon Eridani, Omicron 2 Eridani, Alpha Centauri B, and Tau Ceti as well as the relative distance from Earth and each other.

Its not like I haven't tried other genres of games. I mean I have played the Civ games, the Halos, given Battlefront 2 a good play through, tried out a couple of MMORPGs, and what not. It just seems that only CRPGs have the material I like and what makes a game fun for me.
-
I mostly stay with one genre of game. The CRPG. for the most part other genres just don't hold much interest for me.

There is better ways to deal with frustration but I can understand his anger. If one spent $50 to $70 on a game, or more to upgrade the computer for it, then just to install it to find it doesn't work or there is some sort of wait then anger would definitely be the result. This gives another reason MMORPGs are lame and the worse game concept ever.

Yes, but would it make more since to make a console with a low production value and have the extra material that people buy for it? The method that the current market uses it seems to me that they take a huge unnecessary risk each time a next gen console is made. What if people by the system, finds out it sucks, and not buy any games? The comapny would have a huge ass loss. I just buy games that interest me but I don't see the point of getting a whole new console for the full price if it is only going to have 1 or 3 games that I want to play.

Malak Vs. Vader
6 Foot Invisible Rabbit replied to Darth_Onivega's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
That is why I think it would be a close fight, but Vader would win. You can deflect Force Lightning with a Lightsaber, you know. At least in the novels. -
I will never get the console market. Why make a product that will lose you money? Makes no sense to me. I will tell you this much no console is worth more than $100 to me. There are very very very few console titles that I am interested in and spending anything more than that would be a waste. If I am going to spend anything more than a $100 its going into my PC.

In my campaigns, especially where magic and technology exists I expand Clark's law a little bit. Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic as well as any sufficiently advanced magic is indistinguishable from technology.

I made this alt for it is a play on my real life name.
