I mean, what if they continue the story of Jedi Academy? "

GURPS would be a major one - no classes at all, just skills. Also depends on what you call 'classes' - Call of Cthulhu (Chaosium's original, not the d20 half-brew) has "professions", but all they do is force a character to distribute his major skill points on eight relevant skills during character creation, while there are still plenty left after that. Definitely more skillbased. Exalted has a very loose class-structure (they're there, but nowhere as forced as D&D), but then that's another storyteller game like vampire and all the rest. Hmm... not sure I can think of others right now. Paranoia? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Whats Call of Cthulhu and Exalted like? whats about them?

What do you think of SW: Jedi Academy? What problems did it have? What was the best in it? What would you say if a second would be developed?

Well, the poll is over, and my scientific experiment is done ...anyway, as promised, here it is: the general SW thread feel free to talk about Star Wars games, movies, jokes, pnp, and anything else what in SW goes on ....some extra: We don't give really many suggestions and ideas for KOTOR 3 in its own thread, so we may now write anything not sugg/idea in here. It can be crazy if someone actually tries to read all 17 suggestion threads, and half of it isn't sugg/idea at all ...well, enjoy your stay at the Cantina

KotoR 3: Ideas and Suggestions
Jorian Drake replied to Fionavar's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
As you said Hades, and becouse of this Jediphile: there is only HP in KOTOR, and in the real pnp there are no 'force points' ...well there are some with the same name, but they have an other use. Other than this Phile, you're right PS: the Cantina is now open for anyone (w00t) -

Erm, no, that was an artificial system in the SP game that stopped you just going to Rehinland and buying the most powerful ship you could completely unbalancing the whole game, and is THIS is the best you can come up with, go you. In multiplayer it was a mesure of you personal net-value, and while still used to purchase ships, wasn't any kind of issue since the ship would pretty much cost more than the money needed to get the rank needed to get it. I fail to see how this has anything to do with either RPG or cross-genre. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> This shows they tried to combine space sim and RPG so, that no one will complain about it (players who love space sim but hates RPG ant the other side) -
actually i think none..well mostly no people have the problem what you wrote now, I don't have it, and the 5-6 other people I know ho likes Drizzt don't have them too. And the world need heroes PS: many people don't like Superman/Spiderman or the others, and I don't care about it, so why do you care about Drizzt if you don't like him? Why do you read the books he's in?

Can completely agree with that. Freelancer is a good game, but after the storyline ends and the "Free Roaming" starts, it loses ALOT of it's magic... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Sadly this is true, you better don't rush on the main story line, take a seat, enjoy the game, and make other things not just rush-on the story line -

Erm, yes they did. 'This is a space sim, why can't I use my joystick?!?!'. 'Actually, this isn't a space sim, it's a space trading game'. And I fail to see how it was cross-genre since it only use one control scheme+'planet interface'. That is to say, if you hate the controls, that's it for the whole game, it wasn't that once you landed on a planet you suddenly had to start playing a KotoR style RPG with munchkin power-leveling and TB combat. So yeah, this example is pretty poor. Also, XP in freelancer? haha, no. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Haha, YES : you could only have a ship if you have enough xp for it -

Besides the XP stuff you mentioned things you find in every Space Exploration & Exploitation... So that is already part of the "genre" <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Thre was a great background, and evolving story, one like in the best RPG-s, there was also your own char, but you see him only in movie-scenes and the bar of the planet/station. And this gives a real RPG feeling to it. You have also many options in-game how you would like to solve a problem, or what you would like to do next. So it IS cross-genre, and the best of both  -

Try it ...lots of plots in it -
I don't mind Drizzt, but now i hate YOU... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well, Salvatore's books are the only decent ones when it comes to the d&d genre. Of course they can't beat the dragonlance Chronicles trilogy and Legends trilogy. I have also read Elaine Cunningham's Starlight & Shadows trilogy but I hated it. The end was rushed and her main character (the female drow Liriel) is perfect... too perfect... even more than Drizzt. She learns new spells just like that, by reading books and she wins way too easily her fights. I believe this is an american trend in which writers fall in love with their characters and refuse to make them vulnerable in any fashion. Reminds me of hollywood movies <{POST_SNAPBACK}> You all need to find somewhere translations from John Caldwell's World of Chaos books...nearly all of his main characters dies in a way in a book after that one witch the char was in
