  1. 7-0... Stop working and practice in the office! Obsidian reputation is at stake!
  2. Nice topic. What is art? You all argue if videogames are art but you cant agree with a definition of art. Is art a display of incredible craftsmanship? If so, I think we can agree some videogames display incredible craftsmanship. Sound, image, animation... All other arts combined! Even one single animation could be a piece of art as choreography can be! I sometime find myself immersed in the moment during a game as much as I would be in front of a beautiful landscape or a beautiful painting. Is art supposed to trigger some emotional reaction? If so, I think we can agree some videogames trigger strong emotional reaction. Most games are very visceral in nature (fear, joy) but NightandtheShape pointed out that some game gave him a sense of solitude. Game might not yet be as good at triggering emotion as other medium but I think we are getting there... Is art supposed to give a deep revelation to it public? Videogame may not yet reveal complex truths about life but they do teach a lot... Duckhunt teach you how to aim... WoW teach you how teamwork can be valuable... Zelda teach you how valuable it can be to explore and how every single person ask others to solve their problem and how doing it yourself is a good solution... *Put on Miss South Carolina Wig* I personally believe videogames can be art. However, even if I was wrong, I don

  4. You could have more chances in Canada... in some provinces the government encourages international student internships (in Quebec anyway!). I don't know if this apply for business student who want job in the game industry but it's worth it to check it out. I realised this after some research but what are the actual facts? Is there some employees from outside the US at Obsidian? For entry jobs?

  11. If I was video gaming industry overlord... I would dress Feargus Urquhart as ''slave princess Leia'' and carbon freeze Chris Avellone.
  12. I would have said the ninja from Tenchu but he is not really a spy... so I went with Snake.
  13. Q: What is the weirdest situation you have ever gotten yourself into? Q: What are the challenges for a mature and well positioned game designer?

  16. I think communism can work for some structures... it is not because it didn't work once that it will never work (or the opposite).
  17. Yes but Metadigital say it is good! What is the flaw? (also I have no idea how I can get this magazine in Quebec... is there a link to the article?)
  18. Well I cant tell you from the inside... It must help in some way however. Many people in the industry started as simple testers (wheter or not they got promoted by a friend I cannot say). I believe even Feargus Urquhart started as a tester if I remember correctly. Maybe it all changed since then...
