  1. unless they subscribed to the idea back then that being a 'grown up' started at age 12, like some cultures have in history, and some still do...still being a 'kid' below 18 is a relatively recent development in human history - as stoffe mentioned, who knows what the star wars universe 4000 years ago thought? :D <{POST_SNAPBACK}> But the societies you refer to set those standards because it wasn't usual to have warriors living past their fourties. They didn't have antibiotics and stuff, so a arrow in your asscould easily kill you that if the flu didn't do it first. Although the KoTOR story is set 4000 years ago the society portrayed in it is far more advanced than ours and you have examples of older warrior in both games (Jolee and Kreia) and in the movies (Yoda, Dooku and Kenobi).
  2. Then you should try to get Nihilus number. He ate a planet after all. But he had a indigestion with the Exile (Maybe he choked with the food...) (w00t)
  3. You appear to have used the same logic I did in figuring out his age. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I assume he would have to be at least 18 by the time of the mandalorian wars. Since he was just a soldier he could be that young, but I don't think the republic was desperate enough to recruit kids, so he couldn't be younger. That would put him with 28-30 in KoTOR 2. So, I guess you're right.
  4. It would work plotwise, and it would be really cool if we could play both of them, but I don't think it would be that easy though. But I really like that idea.
  5. Interrupting threads to ask unrelated questions is not polite dude. <_< Start another topic on the spoilers section, or better yet, make a search, because I think this was already answered.
  6. Yes. It would solve the problem for Revan. But if you follow the storyline, the Exile would have to be on KoTOR 3 and we would have the same problem. See that I am not trying to impose my will over yours. I don't think some big shot on Lucas Arts is gonna see my post and say hey: Look at what this guy is saying. Let's do KoTOR 3 the way he wants! I am merely expressing my opinions, OK?
  7. How was I being sexist? I especifically said i would not care if Revan was male or female in my first post. Show me my sexist comments. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Your point of view, whether intentional or not, is sexist. You are stating that -- for whatever reason, and they are hardly legitimate concerns -- characters that people have played in a game, PCs -- who, if the developers have done their job the audience have indetified with and share empathy with -- should be made in your image. That, even you don't regard it as sexist, is selfish, because you are advocating your wants over others to their exclusion. At the least you are insensitive. So take your pick. Are you sexist or selfish, or insensitive? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I never said I would want Revan should be made regarding my own image of him or her. I only said I would like to see an official gender for Revan in KoTOR 3 so he can have a more active role in the game and the way I see there are only two ways to do it. He can have an official gender or will be the PC, but that's unlikely to happen. I said before and I will say it again, since you apparently missed it before: I DON'T CARE IF HE IS A MAN OR A WOMAN! And I don't want it to be made from my own image. I don't care. They can make a poll between the fans or they can let you choose. I don't care.
  8. It is possible, but not very plausible, unless you create every movie, every cut-scene an every dialog in double. An even than it would still remain the doubts about Revan's alignment. What I am trying to say is it's perfectly possible to do it in the way it was done for KoTOR 2, but despite the several references to Revan, he/she doesn't have a major role on the game. He plays a role in the storyline (with the references) but it's not a character per se in this game. And I want him to have an effective role in the next installment.
  9. How was I being sexist? I especifically said i would not care if Revan was male or female in my first post. Show me my sexist comments.
  10. I see no dispute regarding his gender. There may be doubts abou his sexuality, but everyone knows that he was a man. If he was a man who liked men, women or dog (creepy, I know) he would still be a man ( a very wierd, deeply disturbed man, bu a man nonetheless). And your point is? I mean. The society described in the SW universe, even by the time of KoTOR is far more advanced than ours, let alone the societies that Michelangelo and Socrates lived in. And there were plenty of witnesses for their actions. I mean Revan was easily one of the most proeminent figures of his time. I can accept that many people couldn't tell wheter Revan was man or woman, since Revan was always masked. But I can't really understand how people more close to him wouldn't know. Dind't Revan ever talked? By the sound of someone's voice you can tell if it's a man or a woman, even if you can't see the face.
  11. I would like to start over again. I would really like to, but I am just not in the mood anymore. So, the game will probably get real dusty on my shelf before I play it again. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I agree. I was SO excited when I brought it home and started playing for the first time. But now even KoTOR I is tainted by the failure of this game. KoTOR I was probably my favorite game, ever. It was just... perfect. And they've ruined that for me. You come to a forum, every day, for more than a month, to check on a patch. You've pretty much given up hope. Then the patch comes, and I rejoyce. I'm saved. The patch fixes nothing, however. I'll probably never play this game again. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Ah well. I probably wouldn't go to the lenghts of saying I would never play it again. But I can safely say it will be sometime. Meanwhile I will replay KoTOR 1. Cheer up pal, KoTOR 1 is still a great game despite what was done to KoTOR 2.
  12. Mmmh... good point... I think my opinion of Revan's age was skewed due to the fact that I always played a female Revan and I always pictured her to be closer in age to Carth... because really, if she was 25 during KOTOR 1, that would make her what, 5 years older than his son? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> OMG! Carth is a pedophyle creep! (w00t)
  13. Well, Revan's appearance in KoTOR 2 is a rather quick one. I mean, you see him once in the tomb of Korriban and you kill him. He's out of the game. I don't want references to Revan in KoTOR 3. I want Revan to be on KoTOR 3. I want him to talk to you, with an actual voice. To all that, plus cutscenes, for both a female and a male Revan would require a great amount of work and time. A effort I bet neither Obsidian or another dev team would be inclined to do (besides LA would not let them take the time, as they would rush the reease again).
  14. That's funny, I always thought Exile to be younger than Revan... though not by much. I figured they were close in age. *shrug* <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I think that I came up with that because everyone says Revan is such a prodigious Jedi. So I always think of him of someone that achieved his goals early in his life. And that is not said about the exile. But since LA never told us their age, I think is't a matter of opinion and how we see our own characters.
  15. Yes, but I always thought Revan to be younger thanthe Exile. Not sure why. But I said Revan should be in his 30's by now. I said he was around 25 by the time of KoTOR 1. The exile was out of the picture for that time.
  16. So it wasn't Malek in Conan. It was indeed Malak. Whatever. Still don't care.
  17. The exile should be in his mid to late thirties, being a war veteran and going through a long exile after that. As for Revan, he should have been around 25 by the time of KoTOR 1 and aroun 30 by now, I guess, but I could easily be wrong.
  18. I think it's Malek and I am pretty sure I heard that name in another movie...
  19. So I guess Kreia would't stand a chance in game of pazaak against the emperor...
  20. You don't really need o kill them all. Just their leader. I you walk directly to him without killing any of his goons (and without being sliced of course ) and kill him, the quest will be over nonetheless. That is really annoying, especially because they don't let you do any looting, because all of their stuff magically disappears. Are you sure you did everything. Be sure to mess around in the refugee's sector. Always nice to kill the Quarren. :D
  21. I never needed any special situations to gain influence with Mira like I did with the others. She was always, at least for me, th easiest to train. All I ever did was talk to her very nicely. :D But checking the forums, I found out that many people state that you need a minimum level of awareness. Since I always have high awareness to begin with, I never noticed it.
  22. I really don't care what sex should Revan be. I played him as both male and female and got a kick out of it all the times. I really loved the Bastila romance and killing Carth was priceless. However, I would like to have an especific gender set (male or female, I don't care) just because i would like to see Revan again in KoTOR 3, but since is not likely for us to be able to play him again, he would have to be given an official sex.
  23. The patch only affects the games started after the patching. Your previously saved games are not affected by the patch.
