I havent watched G1 in 20 years and i got 8/15 half of those were guesses.

actually the films are equal to the books in their craptitude. I have read the books, i like to read a book before i call it crap. Edit: the series does improve as it goes on, i suppose my main gripe with the franchise is the mass perception of it being the last word of god. It does have its good points - if a kid learns to read well beacuse the books then fair enough. Baley trying it on with silver: kid trying to shag a brick wall.

You know you love it!! TBH i dont mind carth so much he just seems like a good dude. I almost felt a pang of regret when i killed him. Thats what is missing from K2 the opportunity to turn on your characters. In k1 when first encountering dark bastila with jolee and juhani trying to keep Revan from turning DS i almost had second thoughts. Again same with the mission and zaalbar bit. I kept reloading and playing teh same part over and over to see if it kept the same effect.

I like to think of it as LoTR in space. I know SW isnt sci-fi per se but to the casual observer it would seem that way and when you look for the films in shops and websites its not under space fantasy/galactic pirates.

I think someone said spice mines of kessel. Its okay to draw upon obscure old japansese films and on any work of art so long as its done in way that just doesnt lazily rip it off. Like harry potter rips off roald dahl books, star wars and lotr. EDIT: st did not create sw.

I knew someone would mention the old series of star trek but that was done and dusted way before SW came out. The first SW film kick started the sci-fi movie genre and Star trek the motion picture would most probably have not been made had it not been for the mammoth success of star wars. Spice is mentioned more in the EU than in the films - so really the hack authors of EU books stole from dune.

You can't dismiss the lotr source material (books and films) is fantastic. The only people who dismiss star wars are kids (fair enough - they never lived through the original hype) trekkies (cant live up to the fact that star wars allowed their franchise to exist) Adults who missed the original star wars phenomenon (poor them what the hell did they do when they were young??) Adult harry potter fans are just disturbing - to be taken in by such a highly derivative unoriginal overrated piece of poo is just sad unless they don't really like it and have ulterior motives. Well done to jk rowling though - she's extremely rich
