"When I go to store and see JE box there and see the m-rating in it I will "attempt to disbelief" it. Well, not really... Probably..." Eh. I don't know why Dave Gaider would blankly lie about the rating. Afterall, a M rating likely means less sells unless your name is GTA. Of course, there's still amonth to go so things can change; but he was very matter of fact in his assertion of the M rating. "I expect as much. So in next year NWN 2, Dragon Age and Jade Empire would all be published. Hmm, I probably should start sleep right now, because I wont be doing it a lot next year." LOL

What was the name of the canceled BI RPG?

"Evil big meanie head!" What? I'm the good guy? I'm trying tod efend us all from playing crappy would be game slike Torn and celebrating tragic losses in the gaming world like BG3 and FO3. P.S. I was overly harsh about Torn, I admit. It had one good quality - it was scheduled to have dwarves unlike LH! :D -
"OWNED." Slavery is wrong. It's much worse than stealing. Stealing should come with fines. Salvery should come with much harsher punishment as in jail time and/or more 'permenant' punishment. "I don't know download game=steal." Downloading is not always stealing. It's ok as long as the owner of whatever you are downloading says it is allowed.

I'm glad TORN was cancelled. It was likely to be dribble. It's too bad BG3 and FO3 were cancelled though. Torn probbaly would of eneded up being a LH; but much worse as LH actually had some good qualities. -
Good points Drakron; but remember JE is not an action game with role-playing elements. It's a role-playing game with action elements. At least that's how Bioware describes it. "1) "The open foot" and "the closed mouth" ... we have aligment in D&D because the original system was based on it, aligment systems sould be avoided ..." I'm not worried about alignemnt stuff. I actually like the D&D alignment system. That said, JE's system is not a strict alignment system like D&D's is. They are philopshies of a way of life; not neccessarily good/evil. "2) The airship (this is not Final Fantasy)." LOL Since when does FF have sole rights to airships? You are right; this isn't FF. FF doesn't even try to let you 'choose your destiny". The airship - the drgaonfly - looks cool; and it seems to fit the world of the Jade Empire. "3) "This is game is based on chinese mythology ... and japanese ... and canadian", I know that BioWare avoids the critics over how "based" its actually is but from what I seen so far it does not look like its based on it, it look they simoly made the game visualy look like some place in china and put some "mythology looking" stuff on it but that is about it." The Jade Empire is *not* Ancient China. BIO has already said if you are someone epxecting a full fledge recreation of Ancient China you are looking at the wrong game. BIO wrote:'So you aren

"I thought you acquired a Xbox for 100 bucks a while ago?" No one reads more than the first post of a thread, I think. <> That 'deal' didn't work out because of a moron. "I will survive (I think )." As good (or as bad) as JE will be; I think you can survive not playing any game including it. :D

http://www.gamespot.com/xbox/rpg/jadeempir...emp_tr0310e.asx Check out Official Trailer 3. It looks awesome. I don't if anyone in their right mine will be able to complain about its graphics. I must say I did have my doubts about the full fledge RT combat; but that video gives me hope for it actually being good and fun. There are some story stuff in the video. Very interetsing. Though; it's still mostly combat and scene watching. Also, it's been confirmed on the boards that JE will be rated M for Mature. Damn. It sucks I cna't own a x-box. Migh thave to borrow my sister's boyfriend's x-box and rent the game. R00fles!

How cna it be faulty when you finished it? WOWSERS! That's like me returning KOTOR2 after I finished it complaining about bugs. R00fles!

"Finger of Death is in China, even if he did want to use P2P to 'accquire' it, there's no Anti-Piracy laws in China IIRC." Law is irrelevant. It's just wrong to steal games whetehr you happen to live in NA, Europe, the ME, or even China.
-
"I'm not breaking any laws." I never accused of this in that post. Not even a hint. Just because soemthing 'isn't right' doesn't mean it's 'illegal'.
-
"I'd rent Fable , but since my purchased copy went black screen twice I returned it. Did finish one ending first though" Wait a sec. You bought the game. You finsihed the game. You returned the game. That just isn't right. <>

The KOTOR community pulling a Carth?

"I think the Obsidian progression works a little better because it gives you more control over when you progress." How does it do that? It' the same method. You find the different items (Jedi) and the main story progresses from that. The 'End Game' only begins when you find all four. You get the same amount of control in both KOTOR1 and KOTOR2 in this regard. -
Unreal Engine 3 report, going to see alot of it so
Volourn replied to kumquatq3's topic in Computer and Console
"I don't even bother with Bioware, their games, or forums any more." Come on, Visc. Please don't go down this world. You know full well you gonna buy DA. The only reason why you you don't ';bother' with their baords is because they banned you not because you chose to avoid them. As for the engine thing; face it; you are being silly. Engines don't side what games are made using them. Developers do. You are right about one thing - Gothic 2 does suck. :D -
Yet another question about the ending
Volourn replied to Darth Dodo's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
"How did you come to that conclusion anyway?" Which one? The fact that she still a slave even after death. Simple. As we all know, dying in the SW Universe doesn't mean much. Even the dead are a part of the Force so even in death Kreia is a slave to the Force. "That was just one of her goals.Revenge on Jedi (done) Revenge on the Sith(done) spreading her teachings to a new student(done)" Those weren't her goals. Those were all a means to an end. Her goal was tod estroy the Force. She did not do that. Therefore, she failed in her goal just like any oher villain. -
Yet another question about the ending
Volourn replied to Darth Dodo's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Kreia loses. Her goal was to destroy the Force. She failed in doing that. She loses. And, as Kreai was a slave in life she is a slave in death. She will always be a slave to the Force. Always. -

Volourn replied to Ace's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Not as much as KOTOR1, and KOTOR2 are the same plot advancement wise. -
That's what KOTOR2 is for... And, the Exil is NOT the last Jedi. Don't be brainwashed! As for Kreai, SP pretty much summed that up. Kreia is hateful. She is aheful of everything and the Force is the embodiment of that hatred.

"then I would have agreed , but they are not and your interaction with them alters has significant implications on the story." Not really. In the end, all the Masters are dead, and they basically tell ya things you already knew - you got kicked out of the Order for betraying it. Ooo... The story goes on the same no matter what. "Go collect four items is no way representative of the main plot of KOTOR II is it?" Just as much as the Star Maps have on KOTOR's story. Afterall, whenever you collect the Star Maps in KOTOR1 you get a aprt of the story as well. Same poo; different pile. "Exactly! But Volourn does have a point when he says that the games are quite similar: Both games follow almost exactly the same pattern!" You are a genius. Be careful though; agreeing with me may lead SP to press the 'report button' near your post. :D -

Volourn replied to Ace's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Ahh.. You are just trolling for a reaction. That's ok. The bottom line here is that you collect 4 items.. err.. Jedi to pregress the game much like KOTOR1 with the star maps. It's the same exact concept. The fact that the Jedi can talk is irrelevant here. -

Volourn replied to Ace's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
"You dont collect Jedi in the same way that you collect StarMaps." Pretty much, you do. You need the Star Maps to progress the game. You are 'forced'; to go to 4 random planets to find 4 things. You do the same exact thing with the Jedi. If you cna't see the obvious connection between both scenarios; that's not my problem. "And no it dosnt work exactly the same because a Star Map wont try to kill you if your on the wrong side." Well... The Star Maps do have their 'protectors' if you try to grab one... -

"Your not collecting Jedi, you are searching for and meeting them, big difference. Your post is intentionally misleading and you should therefore stop. You dont go around and put them in a box like items you collect." No. You basically do 'collect' them. Afterall, the game will not progress until you collect.. err.. meet all 4. It works exactly the same way as it did in KOTOR1 with the Star Maps. And, I have a hunch that was intentional to give the player a reason to visit all planets. Nice try. Nowhere did I post that you put them in a box. Talk about misleading as that's exactly what youa re doing putting words in my post that weren't there. -

"do think it's a little odd that the game shipped with something as weird as GO-TO destroying Bao-Dur's remote aboard the Ebon Hawk only to later see that the Remote is perfectly fine..." That's just an anomaly. Ita ctually didn't destroy the tiny droid. Just zapped him good. -

"Your not collecting four of anything in KOTOR II so perhaps you should drop the trolling before someone gets report button happy." Go ahead. You are just embarassing yourself. You are collecting 4 jedi on 4 different planets. Stating that isn't trolling; but stating a fact. Report my post; I'll report yours for trolling and making uncalled for threats. Just because you don't like the facts; don't come whining about it. Then again, you shouldn't be making it perosnally. I never flamed anyone. I discussed the game. You should stick to the same instead of making threats. P.S. This entire topic is trolling as its intial design was to flame fellow posters. -

"but I thought they did an excellent job making KotOR 2 more immersive and less generic, (not talking textures here )" That explains the 'Go Collect 4 Items' main plot in KOTOR2. R00fles! As for the content patch. Obsidian shoudl throw the plan in the dumpster, and concentrate on learning from KOTOR2 to make their next games even better.
