When Amazon Fresh has been "out" of a lot of your regular stuff all week and you have to actually go to the store. Also, those Sleep Number beds are weird things. Probably better for your back if you're a back sleeper but not so great for side-sleepers (they feel too "rolly" when on your side no matter the setting). I've had cheap air mattresses with foam toppers on top that were almost as good. And if both sides are at very different settings there's a weird/uncomfy middle line difference (queen size). If I was hubby I wouldn't keep the thing, at least not for the price paid. I often don't sleep in the same room these days (I stay up late/weird hours + he snores at deafening decibels and flails around so much he's hit me in the spine and face a few times :P ) so it's up to him.

Took hubby around an hour to kill Truant, dying constantly. He's using Moze in this case, lvl 14, Truant's 15. I think I finished him in about 4-5 minutes at approx the same clvl - I might have been one level higher. (Hubby's better w/a controller/hitting what he aims at, but I'm usually a lot better at staying alive + boss kill speed abilities ) The weird thing is, Truant is doing this spiky cold-ball trick that I don't remember him doing at all when I fought him. Where he summons the ball and then after a minute or so it flies around the outer edges of the arena (making it difficult to hide up there) for a couple passes and is basically a 1-shot kill if it direct hits you. The summoning can be interrupted tho, so the only thing I can think of is I was interrupting him often enough to never see it. Still, other bosses I've also felt like they added another attack or their attack pattern/effect altered if you take too long to kill them. They sometimes seem quite different for hubby than for me. It's odd. -
I never used any "mod manager." Just tossed them in the mod folder and checked/unchecked them in the game's start/splash screen thing. I know the reasons for mod managers but I never used enough to make them or specific loading orders necessary. Although if GoG doesn't have that starting choices menu (before the game actually opens) I suppose I might then.

So I just became aware that FO:NV is on GoG these days. Which means I will double-dip to buy it so my only copy isn't with Steam. But I'm wondering if mods I used with the Steam version (downloaded ages ago from Nexus, or simple ones made by me in the editor) will work with GoG's version without any other work/changes. eg, could I just copy them from my old PC to a GoG install folder? eg, I'm too lazy to want to recreate my old mods for compatibility.

"In the Tall Grass" via Netflix, a moody/visual horror movie based on a short novella by S. King and his son, unread by me. --on my TV at least, it was so dark I could barely see anything most of the time, which is not something that happens often at all with this TV/my settings. I could've turned up brightness etc. temporarily, but the movie wasn't worth the bother. --there were moments where I had sorta flashbacks to "The Happening." Tall grass and wind noises are so evvvvil. --"wtf did I just watch." No logic (not even horror logic), no explanation (what is that rock? I'd like to know more about that rock), no nothing, just chrs. running thru tall grass and mud with dirty faces and Patrick Wilson in another bad career choice. I think there was time-bending or something. Not recommended, unless you need something to put you to sleep.

Just sounds like one of the many small bugs the game has. I've encountered quite a few. Nothing huge but a lot of little things that bug out very randomly and either resolve themselves at some point in a play session or resolve when you restart/reload. I found this Legendary pistol with the red text "Hail" - it's like a masher with a large explosive radius, which is great when you have trouble with precise aiming via controller+enemies that run around like jackrabbits on hot coals. I'll be sad when it becomes too weak. Edit: hubby is usually a lot better w/a controller than I am and he's having issues too, so I feel better knowing it's "not just me." Ha. -

When I reached Atlas HQ for the 1st time I ended up just running past everything. I've gotten to where I find myself doing that frequently, just to get to the mission's point/boss, side or main. One of the UI things I liked about BL2 was that sidequest descriptions gave you an idea what the reward would be (sniper, $$, SMG, etc) so you had at least a vague idea if you were even interested. On the bright side, I get constant amusement from Flak's Jabber pet. He is hilarious, always grabbing explosive barrels and half the time hurting himself. He does it on his own, it's not me Commanding him. Sometimes he picks up a barrel just when there's no enemies left and thus is "stuck" carrying it all over the map. Ha. Ha. And Rhys' VA is the same one that voices Noctis in FFXV (Ray Chase) which has been interesting. :D I should replay some of BL1, just for the pistol/sniper goodness. Other gaming, I'm contemplating Code Vein ... altho it would be a bit like DMC5 where I probably wouldn't get terribly far. But the chr. creation and anime style are appealing and I hear that overall it's not as difficult as most "souls like" games, due to power creep. Plus, AI companions vs. being solo smasher always appeals to me/makes it a bit easier (you can play it w/out companion to make it harder). I should wait for a sale but not sure I will. -
The last Android system update on my Galaxy Tab sucks. Not that that's surprising. Nuked some leftover food from someone hubby knows, some kind of spicy pork mixture "Mexican" style over rice. The pork was probably marinated before being cooked (salt), the rice was soaked in some kind of tomato-y soup based broth (salt) and green olives (salt) and the pork stew-like sauce seemed to have extra (salt) as well. So while the flavor overall was ok, and I have a fairly high tolerance for salty in general, it was way too salty even for me. I ate it anyway because it was easier than cooking. *facebloat*

I've bought only EVGA for a long while now and they've all lasted longer, in terms of still running, than my PC's. I think the one Nvidia that didn't wasn't an EVGA (and wasn't a top tier Nvidia either). EVGA's software is meh but they seem sturdy, at least for the higher tiers vs. low budget. You may have mentioned the Facebook thing before but I forget why you feel you must do it. Something about Experience maybe? Because I haven't had to ever do that to just d/l the drivers. I just go to nvidia's driver page. Nvidia prices are definitely redonkulous tho, even if one uses a 4-8 year turnover.

Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2

Not this time ... but I'm sure I've posted in the wrong thread doing that before, too. -
^ Those were probably my main complaints re: the film as well. That all said I didn't hate the movie - the first 1/3 was entertaining enough and the rest was enough to keep me watching, even as I huffed and snorted along the way. It didn't really feel like War of the Worlds to me either ... just another loud Hollywood alien movie. I'd rather watch the 1953 film again instead.

^ First/most popular comment under the top video: "I felt a great disturbance in the Force, as if millions of voices suddenly cried out in terror and were suddenly silenced. "
-
^ Trailer looks moderately promising and while I can't say how much I'll like it or not for sure, at the least I *am* sure I'd like it a lot more than that Tom Cruise film.

BL3 - I hate the (sorta) platform jumping moments. Such never bothered me in old stuff like Tombraider but modern day 3D games sometimes gives me vertigo/falling panic. In real life I refuse to even get on ladders and while I can stand on a cliff edge w/no problem, I can't look DOWN without feeling a little oogy. Not sure why some games it won't bother me at all but some games it does - maybe 1st person vs. 3rd person - but anyway BL3 is one that does. Bah. -

Redacted, wrong thread, sorry, ha. -
After staring at my butterfly chrysalis for what feels like a few weeks and wondering about the coming cool weather, I finally bothered to look up info on this stage of W. Tiger Swallowtail. Apparently if it's late in the season (Fall) and it's brown/woody looking instead of green, it won't emerge until Spring. Mine doesn't look quite as "woody" as in 'net pictures but it hasn't putrefied or dried out so I'm running on the assumption it's still viable. So I guess onto a shelf w/indirect sunlight it goes and I'll check it once a week or so until Feb. If I don't forget. :P

@ GhostofAnakin - From what I've read, the "good loot" drops mainly from using Mayhem modes after beating the story (you have to get to Sanctuary in TVHM to activate Mayhem modes). Otherwise while there are enemies that drop decent stuff, it's still very random/fairly rare, so it's not like you'll see more than a handful or two of Legendaries in the first Normal playthru, probably. Bosses are definitely scripted to always be higher level than you, but maybe there is a max cap to it - it's just that under normal play you'll never reach it, like you've discovered. I haven't had any issues with it yet (I did avoid that Killa guy because of all the stories). In Normal, melee with 120% melee bonus weapon is so strong now that half the time I just run up and whack things to death, with occasional wild bouts of jump-running in circles, even bosses - since my main issue is the horrible aiming drift with controller. Also, like all the other BL's, there's always some trick or spot to find that at least makes a fight easier. Killing random trash mobs definitely nets you low xp. The way loot boxes and enemies respawn now is weird too, it's all timered, even if you only fast travel to ship and back ammo and cheap lootboxes mostly respawn each time (but red chests do not respawn for a long time no matter how many times you quit/reload, no clue what the timer length is - tested in the first Promethus area that has a red chest with some bandits). Edit: some enemies will not quickly respawn if you only FT back and forth but do respawn on every quit/reload -
Oh yeah - that Breaking Bad film trailer reminded me that I watched "Brightburn" last night. The guy in the knit cap (Badger?) from BB is in that one. The film itself disappointed me since I was hoping for more of a thriller/superhero subversion and it's really just a (sometimes very graphic) horror movie. The guy playing the young son is decent and the very last couple minutes were more like what I was envisioning but by then far too little too late. Maybe if they'd made it 10-15 minutes longer and built up chrs. outside of the son/mom a tad more.

From light morning rain to normal to super-hot to super windy. Weather sure is more temperamental the past several years vs. all the rest of my life. Just another lazy day here, with nothing eventful going on. Just like I like it.

Between Two Ferns the movie (Netflix) I don't recall ever seeing any of the web shorts. The film is typical of a skit-idea that gets turned into a movie and nothing that great but yeah, those celebrity interview bits can be quite funny. You can ffwd and skip the "plot" and just watch those and get a chuckle. The most hilarious to me however was the very brief moments at the start of the credits that show some outtakes of them laughing while trying to film etc. I'd love to see long editions of all the filming of interviews, including those outake moments left in.

I got to lvl18/Athenas first trip (dunno if you go back again, I'd guess so based on the way the game is going). Best thing there is the for loot and xp before moving on. I think they basically failed at giving the player more of that illusion that the game is not super-linear. I mean they were all linear, don't get me wrong, but something about 3 feels more small/encapsulated, and a lot of the areas/non-boss enemy fights feel more like mini-arenas then open/expansive or interesting design. Which is the impression I got from trailer gameplay but I was hoping I was wrong. Doesn't seem like it. I don't think traveling between planets does it any favors either. I would have preferred they focus on a single planet only. So BL4 could've been another planet, etc. Edit: Found another couple legendaries, both things I won't use. Torque explosive weapons are very good now. Don't like most Maliwan (again, they made them lessser in BL2 as well). The radiation feels like Pestilent Defiler effect and works well, most of the time I don't' see a need for poison because of it. Slag seems to be gone? They made the hotfixes a hard/installed update yesterday and nerfed Killavolt some. I've been keeping my Slim unplugged from the 'net tho, until they stop updating it constantly. Can't stand constant changes. -
I used to want a bunch of such things for making jerky. But jerky is all I'd use a dehydrator for and with the cost of beef around here these days + how much jerky I'd constantly want to make ( I am not a eat one or two small pieces a day person), I may as well just buy the expensive jerkys that I try/find/like. Less work. Edit: dried apples, apricots, plums etc. are good tho. I think I'd have to buy my own apricots and it'd be pricey too. They're not in the average grocery stores that much.

I do not like the first area/round of Prometheus planet. Actually, what I don't like is too much focus on car spawns meaning I can't explore in peace half the time. The "improved" UI still sucks, too busy/too many clicks, (like how many key presses to FT once you get the ship, for god's sake,). The controller aiming still sucks even if you fiddle with the "dead zone" settings. So at level 14 and able to go to the next planet my feelings thus far go like this: BL1 - 96/100 (because I like its SP and sniping play a lot more) BL2 - 91/100 (because it's great MP) BL3 - 79/100 (could change a little later) TPS - 60/100 I think I've had about enough for now tho. I find myself more irritated by a lot of design/interface decisions (and the UI lagfest) than enjoying at the moment.
