I'm almost certainly going to dump both. 0.8 isn't worth it imo, it was only worth it with Beloved Spirits, which is now worthless. I ended up dumping both. My melee Chanter took a melee talent instead. It's such a pity as it didn't really feel OP before and was a nice class defining talent. It helped but didn't (at least for my party setup) make it OP. I have a feeling Obsidian, for all their great intentions, have a tendency to over nerf. I mean, who in their right mind would take a talent that now only adds .4 End regen? I'd love to see a developer/designer post here to explain this nerf. Go for it!

I just wanted to say, THANKS Obsidian, that was a very difficult battle but SO satisfying when I won. My final tactic was to keep all of the party far away, so they would miss the initial paralyze, allow us to build up some buffs and get off some ranged AoE and send poor Eder to talk to the banshee and get all the agro. Great fun.

Thanks for the replies all, very useful info. I'm now happy with my Druid build. Now all I need to do is find a way of making some rings which increase the number of spells I can cast per rest, like those pesky Wizards and Clerics have! I guess that will be a case of waiting for some clever people to make some item mods.

Thanks for the info. Yeah, thinking about it, I'm more into the spell casting, so I'll leave the shape shift talents. But regarding your point "none of the elemental enhancing talents are worth taking except for burn and maybe shock...", are you talking about talents such as Scion of Flame? I've taken the freeze and storm versions because I thought they would increase the damage of my freeze and storm spells. Isn't that correct?

That's a good point re the elemental damage talents (EG. Scion of Flame). I've already picked the freeze and storm versions, I guess they will effect many of my spells. I'm really on the fence whether to take any telent which improves my bear shape shift or not. I've seen a couple of posts where people say they're not useful mid/late game. I'm guessing they won't scale well, as we can't add equipment to buff our shape shift, only buff via those talents.

Well I hope modders hurry up and make something to fix this insanely frustrating lack of Druid +spell per rest items. It may not seem a big issue but playing all the classics (BG 1/2, NWN 1/2 etc), I've always searched out all the +spell per rest items for my PC, it's an major part of my play style. And to find out they didn't bother making any for the Druid, it very much pi$$es me off.

Patch notes for 1.03

Yes, I've tried using it that way just now and it is indeed not so bad, especially if the Wizard has a high INT -- but I still don't see why the nerf was necessary. I guess if they increased the casting range by a lot, it might work out to more or less even. Right now, the only time when I really need to cast it on my own allies is when the enemies have gotten past Eder and are interspersed with the party. If the Wizards can stand further from the battle, this won't be that much of a problem. I partly agree, but if you do the math, 0.4 is pretty worthless no matter how you slice it. Also, any Endurance regen is a double-edged sword: it hides the fact that you're taking damage so you might not break out the big spells and only figure out that you've just spent half of party health on a single battle after the fact. Yep, if I knew that talent would only increase the regen by .4, I definitely wouldn't have taken it. Oh well, it's still a great game, hopefully they'll add a respec option (or I may risk using a mod) at some point. -

"Beloved Spirits adds 0.4 Endurance to Ancient Memory instead of 2." Was that really needed? I picked up Beloved Spirits for my Chanter companion and haven't noticed it being OP. So now this talent (and you don't get many of them) only adds an extra .4 endurance? Doesn't that make it completely useless? -
Thanks for your reply. I guess the wildstrike series only are supposed to effect the shapeshift attacks but it would be nice to get a confirmation from a dev. But I agree, it would make sense the Scion of Flame (and other versions such as shock) should effect spells. I did do some tests but the combat logs don't display any extra damage when I do spells from the SoF talent. But, saying that, one of my Druid fire spells (can't remember the name but it's the 2nd level fire spell) did 41 damage when the spell description displays max 37, so maybe it is working.
