Yea. I would think myself a huge supporter of this game, but realistic in my views. All these problems really seem to point towards an unfinished work. There are lots of flaws in the plot and the tech end. I'm not sure who decided to push this game out in time for Christmas, but they should be fired The glitch stuff I can handle for the most part, but other things aren't acceptible. I have heard some people say this game would have been better if Bioware would have done it. I don't really agree, but there is one thing I think they would be right about. I don't think Bioware would have put the game out before it was ready. Not saying it's any fault of Obsidian. You have do what the people writing the checks tell you. A company like Bioware, which I am predicting as being the next Blizzard, is getting the power that they can say "You're game will be ready when it's ready". Obsidian, though packed with lots of talent, isn't a powerhouse studio. Just some late night ramblings on my part... I just think that if this game came out in Feb with the PC version, it's my knowledge that was the original plan, then we wouldn't ever had such discussions on missing planets and plot holes.... Maybe it's just wishful thinking?

omg .... I can't believed that works.... I thought it was going to be like the first time I overloaded the computer I was using in KotOR1 ....

Most Memorable KOTOR 2 Moment
Perfect-Tommy replied to darthillinovex's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Well since a lot of my moments are already listed... How about when Kreia is doing the super special "where are they now reunion special" flash to the future. There's a joke about Jango Fett going down like a punk to Mace Windu. Something along the lines of... "The mandelorian armor will be worn by a shell of a man that dies too easily at the hands of a Jedi..." That about made me choke on my water... -
Filling in the plot holes at the end...
Perfect-Tommy replied to Boiler98's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
lol So I've read through about 6 pages of this thread and it's getting to be kind of the same old, same old. I think what it all comes down to is that both the PC and Xbox version had a common release date. It's amazing how much a difference a couple months can have when it comes to a game. I'm sure there are full levels, partial movies and many lines of unused codes lying all over the Obsidian offices... For what it's worth, I think this storyline was much better then original KotOR storyline.... till the last couple hours. I play games for the storylines, not to become "uber", and a couple hours into this game, I couldn't stop. I understood a lot of what happened, but a lot of the unanswered questions really leave big holes. I think the #1, mamma-jamma hole that lets me down is the hole Mira thing. By the end of the game we know a lot of Kriea's choices and cryptic double talk, but never what Mira's true potential is. I have only played through the game once (I got it for Christmas and was out of town till a day or two ago, so give me a break ), but all I know is she can learn Jedi classes. That's it. I never got close enough to her to get her story from her. I assume that she has the potential to be a very powerful force wielder, but it's never fleshed out? What about the whole HKs will never stop thing. They seemed to misteriously stop after I whoop their asses a few times.... All I can say, and I hope an Obsidian staff member reads this..... If the PC version comes out as a "Director's Cut", I would buy it. I am not one to buy a game on multiple platforms, or support the microsoft "sell a broken car so they can market their replacement parts later" way of bussiness. In a case like this, I would be willing to make an exception. After playing through this game. hearing the basic plot and seeing all the improvements you made to the engine I have nigh-complete faith in you guys. I really hope in the future, Obsidian can give us their products a little more in the condition they see fit... -
If Your A Sith Lord?
Perfect-Tommy replied to Vanidar Skywalker's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I really don't want a bunch of asshats following me around. I would like to see manipulation making a bigger impact into the game. Manipulate NPCs and your Party into doing things using the force and your evil, twisted mind. One of my favourite scenes in the original game was when you were on Man., then you pick a fight with the Sith officer. You can use the mind trick on the law officer to make him arrest the Sith because it's all her fault. Of course, you get DS points too. I mean, you don't have to kill Jawas to be evil. You can simply trick someone else into killing Jawas to be evil  -
Dark Side REALLY needs work for KOTOR II
Perfect-Tommy replied to Ivan the Terrible's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I kind of solved the group interactions by surrounding myself with evil characters when possible. I mean, when you're slaughtering masses of innocent people, nothing is better then having Killbot standing behind you yelling "TAKE THAT MEATBAG!!!" Having in-depth Darkside reactions would be a lot better, but not having to listen to nancy-boy Carth whine about "What did they ever do to you???" was reward enough for my troubles... -
What character do you plan to create for Kotor2?
Perfect-Tommy replied to ramza's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I never had much trouble with the force powers slapping me down. By the time the old sith meat puppets started throwing themselves at me I was a cold-blooded killing machine. I mean, when you're a human force bomb blwoing everyone around, they haven't much chance of using that level 1 DS power of "Mild discomfort"... -
What character do you plan to create for Kotor2?
Perfect-Tommy replied to ramza's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
All I can say is that I will be going through it multiple times. Of course there's the typical lightside/darkside choice, but there's also the whole "how did you end the last game?" input at the start of this one, which I assume will change the course of the story. So right there is atleast 4 times through. For some reason I always play a female for Darkside. I think it let's me detatch from the character better so I can be truly evil and sell Wookies into slavery. I reckon that each one will be different class and combat styles. As for how I stat my characters... I'm a dex freak. I always maxed it out on my characters so that when you start your Jedi training, that your AC doesn't drop to utter crap because of a low dex mod. and the combination of wearing a robe. My characters in most games focus on consistent damage and the ability to not get hit. I mean, if they can't touch you, they can't kill you... :D -
Well, my work is done. I will tell my friend that it was my idea and the dev. added it to the game because of my insight.

I was talking about the original KotOR with a friend last night and he had a great question/suggestion. Is there a button that will toggle a hot switch between melee and range weapons? So have a weapons 1 and a weapons 2 on the inventory screen, which could be switched either through one button or maybe as a paused action so you don't have to go through all the inventory and take an annoying chunk of time to switch.

Will you be releasing media packages so that people can have logos, screenshots and etc. to make fan sites for the upcoming game? Also, this is half statement and half question... When you defeat certin sith jedi in the original, you would get their armour. The only problem is, it would restrict your use of force powers. Will drops like this be addressed so my uber-sith character will be able to look like an actual sith lord and still use force powers? Thanks you staff members that take the time to answer and read the forums.

What will this board be like?
Perfect-Tommy replied to Arkan's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Speaking of Bioware forums, I lost sanity for about 2 weeks and posted quite a deal on their "Jade Empire" section. What I learned from that is pray that Obsidian doesn't announce that any high profile games will be an exclusive for one platform. After the success of KotOR, Xbox players had Bioware on the radar and were sending much love. Then Bioware announced their next game was an Xbox game with no chance of coming to the PC, well... it hit the fan. Now there's people complaining on EVERY forum about "I hate ur compenny!!!! Ur turnng ur back on the PC!!!!" Actually, just pray that no one else ever finds this board again. You already have n00bs like me filtering in -
Howdy, first post on the board With the new content mentioned, will that only be downloaded over X-Box Live, or will it be released through sources like X-Box Magazine as well? Just wondering because some of us live in des har hills and don't have none of that there fancy broadband
