  1. Dont take ranger/sharpshooter because the one you find several hours into the game is probably better anyways. From what I see the companions offer crappy barbarian, crappy rogue, and a crappy cipher. But this is just my first impression. The strong classes I see companions being are Paladin, Chanter, fighter, and ranger
  2. Maybe iam the only one, but the reason I solo'd in BG was to make controlling a party less complicated. Perhaps if a party is very easy to control and manipulate using AI behavior models then there'd be less reason to solo. It gets frustrating when Viconia with 9? constitution rushes first into combat or edwin tries to fight with his dagger, or characters bump into each other and turn around, or the many active abilities and different weapons for every NPC make it boring to micromanage them all. In a way, soloing was easier (and faster playthrough) than playing a party because there was significantly less need to micro everyone. I hope POE solves this dilemma
  3. Puzzles are fun IRL, but not always when playing smth like BG2. They either take 20+ minutes of your precious playing time by making you try and solve the puzzle, or more likely you give up and start saving/reloading or googling the answer (the latter takes less time than the former) altho some of the BG2 puzzles were quiete memorable ( such as "what do rich ppl want, poor ppl have,... etc" or the circus tent puzzle on how old the prince and princess will be )
  4. although there are downsides to the "no-exp-per-kill" mechanic, Iam pretty happy about it so that there is no incentive to kill everyone. Although it would make sense to behead everything if you play or role-play an evil character...
