  1. Would like to see the story go to the living lands, sounds like a very interesting locale. Lots you could do with it due to its diversity of biomes. You could have a colony there as the new cad nua/ship.
  2. Started a new game as a Trickster/Forbidden Fist. I am not about to put up any numbers or stats lol, but from a pure game feel perspective, Its fun! Went for a tankier approach and am rocking a sword and board setup. Plays very well havent had any resource issues with the Forbidden half, for all the negative hype surrounding that sub I cant say I have had any issue getting plenty of wounds. The new fist move could use a slight buff imo in some aspect buts its not terrible as is either. edit: Someone suggested it earlier but some universal monk buff across all monk abilities like a +1 monk PL for each level of curse (for example) or the damage buff applying to all monk abilities would be the perfect kind change. edit: Or wound cost reduction across monk abilities while cursed.
  3. I think Boeroer is on the money with the setting being the biggest issue... As stupid as it may be crpg people love their medieval high-fantasy and are indeed narrow minded about it. Love deadfire myself and really hope we see a 3rd PoE based out of the Living Lands portion of Eora.
  4. Yes actually just finished doing some stress testing while monitoring core temps yesterday. Hits 90c after about a minute at 100% load so definitely overheating. First time I have actually had this issue. have some high quality paste on the way so I can re-seat the cpu fan/sync, which most likely will take care of the issue.
  5. Recently updated that as well. Its still older but newer then the i3 I had and ran Deadfire just fine.
  6. Just upgraded to an nvidia 1070 ti and this happens to me now everytime a Sigil fires off its AoE attack. Can play for hours but as soon as I accidentally move to close to a sigil in combat computer reboots on first AoE blast... Doesnt happen in any other game.
  7. Does anyone play with the Wizard subclasses? Well, with the exception of Fassina and maybe evokers? Too many negatives and not enough upside to the wizard subclasses..
  8. Taking this farther then I should lol but its for fun. Obviously balance of below abilities not precise just a rough guestimate. Also nothing concrete for how class resource would work but was thinking along the lines of the player having to invest funds into a finite pool that made up the Gilders useable resource. Like investing 500 gold would give 10 points for example. Gilder PL1 Active Abilities Gilded Blade: Coats the Gilder’s weapon in a thin layer of shimmering gold. +25% damage as crush, enemies distracted for 10 seconds on hit, duration 60 seconds. Mineral Attraction: Enables the Gilder to detect and convert a small amount of coin into gold, quickly, off fallen enemies. Modal: gains 1 ability resource for each enemy slain by the Gilder. Gleaming Skin: The Gilder coats his armor with flecks of gold that reflect and amplify the light around him. -10 accuracy to enemies within 1.5m of the caster. Duration 30 seconds. Unique Passives (Gilder specific excluding generics) Master of Value: Understanding the true value of all things is the key to not being a broke Gilder. -15% discount at all vendors. PL2 Active Abilities Mydas Sphere: Creates a sphere of gold that when heated and thrown will explode on impact, throwing molten gold onto nearby enemies. Generates 1 Mydas Sphere grenade in an empty item quick slot. range 6m AoE 1.5m, dot 9 burn per second for 6 seconds. range and blast radius scale with explosives skill. Burden of Wealth: Forms a cloak of gold, worn by the Gilder, protecting him while also weighing both the Gilder and enemies down. -50% stride to caster, +3 armor rating, +1 enemies engaged. +20% recovery for 6 seconds to enemies when caster is hit. ability duration 20 seconds. Unique Passives. Treasure Hunter: Gilder’s have a nose for copper so when they find it, they find more of it. find 15% more copper when copper is found. PL3 Active Abilities. Molten Blade (Gilded Blade upgrade): The layer of gold becomes molten, burning enemies that are hit as the molten gold leaves traces of itself behind. 6 burn dot on hit for 10 seconds. in addition to base ability. Crushing Debt (Alternate upgrade choice for Gilded Blade): The Gold layer is thickened increasing the crushing weight of each swing. +50% as crush damage instead of +25% and 10% chance to prone on hit, added to base ability. Golden Haze: Gilder creates a cloud of gold flecks in an area limiting the sight and focus of those caught within. Radius 2.5m AoE Blind and Distracted for 15 seconds if fail vs fortitude. Cloud duration 20 seconds.
  9. Interesting. A Goldpact/Gilder would make for some fun RP.Speaking of RP. Gilders came about as a result of an Animancy breakthrough by Mydas Frigian, a lesser known animancer. What he discovered was a technique for performing mineral transmutation without the aid of magic. He rose to fame as word of his work spread. Eventually he developed a number of suitable adventuring applications all of which employed the use of Eora's currency as mineral fuel for his talents as it could be reliably found most everywhere. After the fame faded and others took his research to even greater heights, Mydas ended up accidently transmuting his family into gold in a failed attempt at regaining relevancy in animancy circles. Driven mad by the loss of his family at his own hands, he simply vanished. Most believe he is dead, likely suicide. While some believe he still lives wallowing in his madness, performing dark experiments in some forgotten corner of the world...
  10. "Gilder" ability to manipulate gold. Abilities would cost the player money to perform. Example abilities: "Gilded Blade"-coats weapon in a shimmering layer of gold, on hit causes burn dot and target is distracted for 10 seconds. "Golden Haze"-Gilder creates a field of gold dust blinding all enemies within, AoE blind and distracted for 15 seconds if save vs will failed. "Mydas Orb"-Creates an orb of molten gold that explodes on impact causing burn dot, AoE 2.5m burn dot for 9 seconds. would be fairly easy to come up with subclasses, for example: "Alchemist"-Uses crafting materials as a resource instead of gold, as a result he has the ability to alter the effects of base abilities depending on the materials used. "Doll Mage"- Loses access to some gilder abilities to gain access to a Gilded Golem companion.
  11. I have tried them all but specifically the ranger I can't bring myself to play anymore... made it about two to three hours in before losing all interest. They already lack abilities in general and then the ones they have are just uninteresting. Binding roots being AOE now at least adds something but even subclasses are meh as it gets and the difference is simply not drastic enough subclass to subclass.
  12. Had an idea for a Paladin subclass I posted a while back somewhere in this forum that I roughly remember. Dissidents of Wael were an order devoted to the discovery and hoarding of all secrets that Wael has hidden, whether arcane, mystical, or mundane in origin. Composed of Archivists and Seekers, The Seekers role was to obtain knowledge that was lost by the whims of Wael and the Archivists role was to safeguard and catalogue the knowledge for use by order members. The order operated out of a large ancient library that doubled as an elaborately sealed vault in which entry was only known and permitted to members of the order. Essentially their order specific ability would be to summon an arcane weapon instead of Flame of devotion as well as having a few other abilities replaced in a similar arcane fashion. Could easily be expanded into its own class though.
  13. I like your Jester idea out of your ideas the best. Would love to see something akin to a Wild Mage but more martial in tone and less magic oriented. Not sure how that would look yet, will post something if I can later to elaborate.
  14. Having something very similar happening with Deltro's Cage. Maybe its something to do with item visual effects while in the inventory?
  15. Once I equip the Deltro armor everything freezes graphically after a couples seconds. The game is still running and I can even quit out by using audio que's for menu buttons. Have waited for about 15 minutes max any given attempt but the graphic portion of the game just never kicks back in and simply stays frozen on the inventory. update: if I exit the inventory immediately after equipping everything works normally. However if I go back into the inventory for the character wearing that armor the graphics lock the same way after a second or two.
  16. Are you kidding me i hope ;D @achilles: obviously you've never played the games i mentioned before or Ultima 7. PoE2 is open world, but still suffers from the “too many distractions” problem that *all* open world game have. Currently on my 4th playthrough and finally have a good idea of what needs to be ignored in order to keep a consistent narrative. You can never have too much to do. To each his own an all but having more to do than you could possibly want to complete gives a layer of immersion linear experiences simply do not have. Being able to come back to a game time and time again and always having something new to be discovered is what keeps bringing me back to games like Skyrim, Witcher 3, or any recent fallout title for example. You can say its a problem (and some agree) but that element is a huge draw for a lot of people also.Yeah. Some people really like that. Some people really like games for the story. Thank you for repeating it again. Yeah not mutually exclusive lol...

  18. Having played a Trickster single and multi(w/cipher, chanter, and wizard) through all beta content, I enjoyed the trickster a lot. He felt good in all the builds I tried and especially good multiclassed with chanter or cipher. I would even play Trickster single though. Sure if you're looking for your stereotypical backstabbing thief rougues aren't that by default anymore in general.. You need to spec them that way. Overall rouges are better in deadfire to me, they were not nearly as fun or versitile in PoE 1.
  19. Wow Ranger's really got shafted. Ghost Heart even more so since he cant even use two of the abilities in their already non-existent pool of abilities..
  20. Trickster/Soulblade. Mostly because it was fun but also love the concept of both and I can make it fit narratively based on decisions made in my poe1 import.
  21. So I I have settled on Trickster/Soulblade. Once I get to see the full ability trees that may change my decision but for now I have chosen. Thanks for indulging everyone.
  22. Based on what I have seen/played no its not. But thats partially my fault for having certain expectations that the class would have bigger changes then it actually got. It was the Ranger but it didnt get quite the overhaul I would have liked and its subclasses feel lazy in implementation... So I have moved on for now.
  23. Well that escalated quickly! Why does a gaming preference that is different from yours to be considered "scum"? Don't most games made in this genre provide an "advancement of power" in the PC and party? "The only people I knew" does not mean "all power gamers that exist." The power gamers I knew were scum because they would do anything and everything to obtain power within a game (cheats, exploits, bugs, design flaw, etc..) Nothing wrong with power gained within the confines of its intended design. I can assume decent power gamers exist but its all conjucture for me based on my experience.
  24. Historically the only people I knew who played that way were the scum of gaming who above all else desired power..
  25. Haha yeah made me laugh. I get why face value their are some obvious class choices that would be better because its less effort to make them work well. Trickster/any chanter works great pretty much no matter what abilities you chose for example. Wizard subs are not in an ideal place and it matters what you pick spell wise to make it work well.
