I believe you should always be told anything that affects your character such as alignment. You should be told when you get dark or light points. Realism should take a backseat to control in this particular instance.

Well, they revealed T3 and half-mentioned other former characters would be joining your party. But then again T3 isnt that important (in the context of the previous game) and there havent been any other details since. So who knows?

There will be plenty of different alien languages in KOTOR2... more than in KOTOR1. As for how you, the player, communicate with these species, you're going to have to wait until you play the game Please dont make us go through the whole "learn the language" spiel like with the stowaway.
