Pets from PoE1

What happens to the pets in PoE1 when you import your save file?

 

Do they get imported as well? or do you loose them?

I assume they all get horribly murdered by Eothas.

What I reckon will happen is that Eothas will form an immediate bond with the miniature giant space piglet upon waking up, will proceed to take it and hide it where no mortal would ever dare look. He'll then inspire us all by charging blindly on through the Deadfire, while soul-syphoning for goodness. Someone will remark hearing in the distance the following words: "Animancy is impressive, but now EOTHAS LEADS! Rebirth for everyone!"

Never used a pet (excluding rangers) - it was my understanding they did absolutely nothing except tag along and there were already enough issues with blocking and path finding to annoy me

They don't affect blocking or pathfinding, but yeah, most of them (with the exception of Concelhaut) are aesthetic only.
