Question

At least during Black Fang's Dungeon (I'm not sure about other scenarios), when in a location screen, just to the right of the box that says "When permanently closed" and next to any special effects that have a tiny magnifying glass next to them, there is a button with a picture of a keep and the button occasionally has a little flourish to show you can click it. However, I have no idea what it does.

I clicked it once before fighting a monster, and a message came up that said "Discard 2 cards." I didn't have any choice to undo, so I did the discard. The monster then got shuffled back into the location deck.

So clearly this looks like an evade. Is this a character specific thing? A mission specific thing? A difficulty specific thing?

And Obsidian, how about a little on screen explanation ahead of time about what this does and maybe the option to undo so that we don't have to find out the hard way that you lose the opportunity to complete your encounter and lose some cards in hand to boot?

There is a location in that scenario that allows you to discard two cards to evade your encounter and move to that location.  The symbol in that icon matches the location's icon on the map.

You should be able to cancel that action. Thanks for reporting that!

There is a location called Temple, it has a power that lets you evade a card and escape to the temple if you discard 2 cards. We'll look into communicating this better. Thanks!

I honestly don't remember anymore. It may have been there but I was pressing it to figure it what it even was and followed the "Discard 2" instruction. While I probably gave the impression in my earlier post that I looked for and didn't find an undo button, I'm not certain if I looked for it specifically at the "Discard 2" instruction step. I remember thinking "Well, if I don't discard 2, I'm probably not going to figure out what it does, so I guess I'll discard 2." I think when I realized I lost out on the encounter was when I wished I could undo it,but even then, I'm not sure if I looked for an undo button at that point. It was several days ago and I've seen lots of screens and lots of undo buttons and it kind of runs together after a while.

Very enjoyable game nevertheless, and quite an accomplishment.

As a minor note - when I observe  new players playing, it would appear the visibility of the Cancel / Done (blue arrow) button is not great, especially on some location background. I've see players who discarded 1 card pre-combat to a Goblin Commando, and then they expect to continue with combat, but instead think the game has frozen , never noticing the confirmation arrow. This is ust one example.

You can use the 'Mark Solved' button beneath a post that answers your topic or confirms it's not a bug.

The time that devs don't have to spend on the forum is a time they can spend on fixing the game.

Personally I am not a fan of a good chunk of the buttons.

I know phones aren't supported, but if they plan to they need to put more space between the buttons. Such as the prompt that comes up if you try to continue without exploring, it asks if you are sure. I have Fat-Fingered this so many times, making a blessing or ally fizzle. Also the Reveal/Refresh/Discard/Bury/Banish buttons when zoomed on a card.

Also the settings (gears) button in the lower left. as I reach my thumb across the screen to encounter a card the window pops up.
