December 1, 20178 yr Author Mechanics that concern this build haven't changed, so it still should be viable. I did not try to solo with this build. It's build like a glass cannon and that's not good for a solo run. When soloing with a rogue I would always use Shadowing Beyond. Deadfire Community Patch: Nexus Mods
December 1, 20178 yr Great! Yeah id change the build a bit, made a similar build 1.5 years ago by stacking spell holding items on my rogue with a shield. Devastating dmg while still being able to tank, tho he was supported by a group to stack debuffs on enemies. Not sure how it would work while soloing. I am going to try it out. Got bored with the monk, such a boring class
February 13, 20187 yr Sorry for posting in an old post, but can you possible make a recommendation on the stats if a person did not like to min max? Thanks!

February 16, 20187 yr Hello! Ive been trying to make this build for a long time, but I’m kinda thorn between this and a wizard per se. My main thing is: I want the character to have nice mental stats for RP purposes. In this regard what do you think it would be better, from an RP and fun points of view: this guy or your Zeblastian?
February 16, 20187 yr Author Hmm, from a fun point of view? Hard to say. Both will drop down pretty quickly once targeted, so this can be frustrating. From lvl 11 on this is pure fun - especially with a fellow wizard who can provide afflictions. Spell binding gear and scrolls will be rare in the early game, so the beginning will be more rough. But taking Prestidigitator's Missiles and Penetrating Shot early is nice. Deadfire Community Patch: Nexus Mods
November 30, 20187 yr Hi! Hate to bring up an old thread but I can't get over the idea of this build. Is it a crazy idea to try and tank this build? I love the idea of a mechanics specialist on the front line who wants to do nothing more then sit there "Riposte"ing and casting scrolls. As far as stats I don't think might would be overly important because the base damage of scrolls is pretty good. Also I can't seem to dump any stats here either because all are important. I'm going to try and take a stab at this for stats but feel free and chime in and call me crazy here. MIG: 10 CON: 14 DEX: 10 PER: 14INT: 14RES: 14
December 1, 20187 yr Author Tanking with a rogue is tough in the early game. Later on it's okish. As shield aim for Badgradr's Barricade in Durgan's Battery. Perfect shield for Riposting. I would also focus on items with spell bindings. Look at Bitter it, Flames of Faîr Rhian, the White Crest and so on. Then you don't need that many scrolls all the time. June 7, 20205 yr Hi~Boeroer This build is so impressive, does Scion of Flame or Heart of the Storm can improves the scrolls(Crackling Bolts,Fireball, etc ) damage?
June 7, 20205 yr Author Hi @lishuai! Thank you. 🙏 I guess so - can't really confirm 100% since a significant amount of time passed since I played PoE. But since those talents work with all elemental damage (except DoTs) it should work, yes. Edited June 7, 20205 yr by Boeroer Deadfire Community Patch: Nexus Mods
September 26, 20214 yr What would you tweak or do differently to try and solo with this build 🤔. @Boeroer Edited September 26, 20214 yr by GrumpyChewbacca
September 27, 20214 yr Author I would go for higher sturdyness and also focus on stuff that lets you end combat prematurely - like Shadowing Beyond. It is very helpful for solo runs to be able to retreat once you killed a few enemies and come back a bit later to finish the job. I guess I would also use other items. This was partly a theme build ("wizard"-rogue) - so some items were picked for flavour over power. That's not helpful for solo runs of course. If going ranged I would maybe pick Persistence as main weapon. Deadfire Community Patch: Nexus Mods
