The retail game disc does not seem to be used during qame installation.
I insert the game disc
begin installation
the installer loads Steam and Steam activates the game on my Steam Account
Steam then downloads the entire game from the internet without touching the disc
Very ****ing annoying considering I buy physical game discs to avoid huge downloads because my internet isn't the greatest. This is almost just as bad as the Lords of the Fallen game, this should be fixable by the developers (unlike the LotF issue).
v2.02 (Game cache integrity verified) Windows 10 x64 Intel i7 920 @ 2.66GHZ ASUS P6T Motherboard Gainward Geforce 560Ti 2GB with latest drivers Integrated Audio 8GB DDR3 RAM
ASUS DRW-1814BLT (1.14 firmware)
For those that are curious, Lords of the Fallen uses a DVD disc format that Windows 8.x and possibly other Windows versions don't support. For that game I had to copy the files off the disc to the HDD on my dads Windows 7 computer, transfer them via the network connection and then run the installer from my computers HDD.
