April 12, 201510 yr Hi there,So its my first playthrough and I got grieving mother fairly late, she didn't have mental binding. I didn't even really know about it until now and i've just got level 8. Is it worth grabbing it and dismissing a higher lvl 8 spell etc?Using her to mainly do cc for my rogue/additional dps. She's using a buffed blunderbuss back row as it just logically seems the best for focus...Thanks
April 12, 201510 yr Author I already took the 'No pain' spelland the screaming one. Reasoning being that the pain spell allowed kana to soak up more hits when off tanking and whilst the other provided cc. Is it worth getting mental binding over Mind Lance? Edited April 12, 201510 yr by joe_ollie
April 12, 201510 yr Mental binding is a pretty great skill, I'd take it over a lot of the higher level options, sort of up to how you want to use her though.
April 12, 201510 yr Author I mainly use her for cc as my rogue cleans up most people quickly. Thanks for the advice, it did look pretty good
April 12, 201510 yr Lmao, of course. It's one of the most overpowered spells. Instant cast, long range, almost never fails (for me anyway - Hard difficulty), fairly cheap to cast. This spell is borderline overpowered when combined with other classes that can take advantage of the paralyze. Yosharian's Deadfire Builds
April 12, 201510 yr Short answer: yes Long answer: pound for pound its the best spell in the entire game.
April 12, 201510 yr Yes absolutely. I only used one level 3 power anyway (Secret Horrors) and even that is passable.
April 12, 201510 yr Mental binding is pretty great. Anytime I think about using anything else, I have to compare it to just using mental binding. That being said, sometimes I do end up casting something else.
April 12, 201510 yr I have own lv 5 cipher, and Mental Blades is my most useful and the most often cast spell.
April 12, 201510 yr I have own lv 5 cipher, and Mental Blades is my most useful and the most often cast spell. For me, that may as well not even be on the cipher spell list since the nerf. Not that I care, since I could just mod the damage back to what it was if I really wanted to.
