Sarex Posted January 17, 2015 Posted January 17, 2015 Just watched the pilot and I must say, for some reason I really liked it. Still can't put my finger on it, but so far the series is great. "because they filled mommy with enough mythic power to become a demi-god" - KP
Valsuelm Posted January 17, 2015 Posted January 17, 2015 The movie was great. How close does the plot follow the movie? Is it a complete revision, or a continuation of the story?

So far it's a take on the movie. So not a continuation. "because they filled mommy with enough mythic power to become a demi-god" - KP
Walsingham Posted January 17, 2015 Posted January 17, 2015 The movie was great. How close does the plot follow the movie? Is it a complete revision, or a continuation of the story? So far it's a take on the movie. So not a continuation. I'm not sold. I thought the movie flirted with interesting, rather than getting into bed with it. "It wasn't lies. rjshae Posted January 18, 2015 Posted January 18, 2015 It had elements of the film, but they changed the time travel rules a bit (probably to allow it to be an ongoing series). 1 "It has just been discovered that research causes cancer in rats."
Bartimaeus Posted January 18, 2015 Posted January 18, 2015 I tried watching the first 15 minutes or so (being a fan of the original movie), but didn't really care for what I saw, so I stopped watching. Was the latter part of the show better? Quote Against stupidity we have no defense. Neither protests nor force can touch it. Reasoning is of no use. Facts that contradict personal prejudices can simply be disbelieved - indeed, the fool can counter by criticizing them, and if they are undeniable, they can just be pushed aside as trivial exceptions. So the fool, as distinct from the scoundrel, is completely self-satisfied. In fact, they can easily become dangerous, as it does not take much to make them aggressive. For that reason, greater caution is called for than with a malicious one. Never again will we try to persuade the stupid person with reasons, for it is senseless and dangerous.
Sarex Posted January 18, 2015 Author Posted January 18, 2015 Yep. "because they filled mommy with enough mythic power to become a demi-god" - KP
rjshae Posted January 18, 2015 Posted January 18, 2015 I though the parts of the episode where they flashed forward to the future were actually a little better done than in the movie. "It has just been discovered that research causes cancer in rats."
