At some point during zoom out, it SUDDENLY loses all its crispiness. And then at a normal zoom intended for playing it looks extremely blurry.

 

Here it's sufficiently crisp:

Oh, it also happens with characters' weapons and shields. Not with the characters models, though. So I imagine it shouldn't be happening with their gear.

It seems like there are two instances of a 3d renderer, one for items and props and one for models. The models one seems to be much more robust in terms of quality of textures, but more prone to breaking (see big head mode).

 

This seems unoptimized. You should really only need one 3d renderer.

These texture problems are issues with the LOD, not with "multiple renderers". (Or I'd be very surprised)

Yeah it's mip map loss. Not sure what causes the door's jagged edges though.
