Random loot is fine, unless it doesn't belong where it's found.

 

In this caste ruin there is a "hidden" compartment (which I found by pressing tab). Inside was a scroll of revival.

 

I could understand gold or some small treasure like that being inside. But It's a stretch to think that someone would stash away a random magical scroll  in this location. This is not the worst example, but it exemplifies the immersion breaking that can occur when powerful magical items are found in places they shouldn't be found.

Scroll of Revival for most ppl would be very very valuable. Someone could stash it in such a place to hide it well from others.

 

How does that not make any sense to you is beyond me.

Seems like an old castle that has had the scroll hidden in a hidden compartment for years from when the castle was active which seems fair enough

That or a Mage Tower
