Hopefully this hasn't been pointed out yet -- seems rather obvious thing, though perhaps it's triggered by my specifics. Anyways, party member positions don't even kind of correspond to those defined in the grid. Offending characters seem to be the BB Fighter and BB Priest, who are consistently off their positions, sometimes even crossing into a space of another character (see screens). Created two other characters, behaviour repeats. Restarted game, no change. Will upload save as soon as someone points out where the bloody things are. >_>

Not quite the same issue, my custom formations worked in shape, but spacing was odd. So for making a [ shape, I would have L, a gap, and the two characters forming the - on top.

I can confirm the bug.

Only the default formation works fine when you start the game. Other formations are bugged, and if you try to modify the first (default) formation, it will become bugged as well.

IE Mod for Pillars of Eternity: link

The formation menu causes huge FPS lag.

Also I can't even make the formations I want (such as characters close together like in the IE games - which is MUCH EASIER for traversing through the maps.

The square positioning seems completely bugged as well.

Yeah, for me the formations are a total clusterf***.

Just chiming to say I'm seeing the same thing.

Will add my voice here also...while custom formations appear to work ok..the spacing between characters is horrendous....needs tweaking for sure.
