Rostere Posted August 15, 2014 Posted August 15, 2014 On the streets of Jerusalem, during the war. Interviewer: Why do you think they are firing these rockets? Israeli teenager: I don't know. They have this motto: As much as we love... Uh... As much as we love... "As much as the Jewish [people] love life, we love death." Watch them call for new wars, and look back on previous ones, clueless as to the situation in Gaza, the motivations of Hamas, and the futility of war. So it comes as no surprise then, that Tel Aviv currently is full of protesters protesting against the cessation of hostilities against Hamas. Meanwhile, one of the few Arab MKs in Israel has been suspended, and is under investigation of "insulting a police officer". She recently made this statement: “Is it strange that people living under occupation and living impossible lives, in a situation where Israel kidnaps new prisoners every day, is it strange that they act this way? They are not terrorists. Even if I do not agree with them, they are people who do not see any way open to change their reality, and they are compelled to use means like these until Israel wakes up and sees the suffering, feels the suffering of the other.” which prompted 89% of the Jewish Israeli public to agree to that her citizenship should be revoked. Meanwhile these statements are completely A-OK: "Not only are the kidnappers [of three Israeli teenagers in the West Bank on June 12] terrorists, Zoabi herself is a terrorist. The kidnappers and Zoabi, who is inciting kidnappings, should meet exactly the same fate." - Avigdor Lieberman, party leader of one of the nationalist parties in the governing coalition "They have to die and their houses should be demolished so that they cannot bear any more terrorists. They are all our enemies and their blood should be on our hands. This also applies to the mothers of the dead terrorists. … Behind every terrorist stand dozens of men and women, without whom he could not engage in terrorism. They are all enemy combatants, and their blood shall be on all their heads. Now this also includes the mothers of the martyrs, who send them to hell with flowers and kisses. They should follow their sons, nothing would be more just. They should go, as should the physical homes in which they raised the snakes. Otherwise, more little snakes will be raised there." - Ayelet Shaked, MK of one of the nationalist parties in the governing coalition Yeah, you imagine the kind of society in which this is the stuff that the most popular mainstream politicians say. At least now after the war journalists and victims can begin recollecting all the atrocities, including the usage of Palestinian civilians as human shield by the IDF. "Well, overkill is my middle name. And my last name. And all of my other names as well!"
Erez Posted August 15, 2014 Posted August 15, 2014 (edited) Zoabi has a long history of undermining the Israeli nation interests and supporting those who seek to destroy us, a quick search into her history will raise the question which is asked so often which is how she has managed to stay in the Knesset for so long. Democracy doesn't give a person liberty to work against the state itself by provoking enemies attacks and supporting the enemy cause. There is the big difference between Israeli politicians encouraging more radical attacks against the Hamas and encouraging attacks against Israel. You didn't write where you took your second quote from, therefor I will not address it. Ayelet shaked and Liberman both are addressing one of the biggest issues of our time, Civil responsibility. Everything you do has consequences if you incite someone to murder a fellow person there should be repercussions for your actions. If you choose hamas for your government and stand by as they choose to engage war with Israel. If you stand by and let hamas build a war tunnel under your house or fire missiles from it don't be surprised when it gets blown away. If you let Hamas use your UN school as it center of operations and do nothing to prevent it then you are inviting for Israeli attacks when all hell break loose. I was inside Gaza and I don't remember seeing any Israelis using children as human shields, We have armored vehicles. More so, Population was given time to leave where infantry entered to search for war tunnels. But I shouldn't be surprised from your post since you obviously chosen to target Israel and Israel alone as the big bad thus giving support to the ways of Hamas and its fellow Terrorist brother, not one word to mention all the journalists coming out of gaza and their stories of Hamas censorship inside the strip. This is the truth about news reports from gaza, add things up and you will get the whole picture http://www.nydailynews.com/news/world/hamas-tv-kidnapped-bbc-reporter-released-article-1.264480 Edited August 15, 2014 by Erez 1
Wrath of Dagon Posted August 15, 2014 Posted August 15, 2014 Rostere doesn't believe Israel has the right to exist, so you have to take his posts in that spirit. But good observations on his usual propaganda. "Moral indignation is a standard strategy for endowing the idiot with dignity." Marshall McLuhan
Erez Posted August 16, 2014 Posted August 16, 2014 (edited) Rostere doesn't believe Israel has the right to exist, so you have to take his posts in that spirit. But good observations on his usual propaganda. Failing to see understand why Israel has right to exist go with the same length of failing to understand the interests of the western world back in 1947. No Israel could have meant a much poorer western world or many more western world expenses and casualties. The reality hasn't changed much in the last sixty years even though it is getting there with all the shale oil that keeps popping around. Edited August 16, 2014 by Erez
Meshugger Posted August 16, 2014 Posted August 16, 2014 I have friends in swedish academia, and i can tell that a very popular opinion is the something in the vein of 1) Israel as a current state must cease to exist 2) All arms on both sides are dismantled, no army is allowed to exist 2) A new federal, two state union is created, called "The holy land" or something 3) All jewish settlers are removed back to the "jewish" part of the union 4) All Palestinian refugees are allowed back 5) Jerusalem will get a unique status, think of the Vatican, with its own military force and administered completely by the UN When that happens, radical islam will crumble, ISIS will implode, democracy will spread through all the middle east and peace will be on earth. Those ideas might be unique to the Swedish intelligentia, i can't tell for sure. Un surprising to hear such ideas from Sweden. after all the country is performing self genocide against native swedes, standing second in rape rates with large number of them violent. And still no hope for the swedes on the horizon. Just another lesson how wishful thinking doesn't make things true and how giving away honey to murderers wont always make things better. There is much we can learn from Sweden, we can learn how easy it is to take one of the best countries in the world with the best of public services and shatter it to pieces with paragonic naivety.
NWN_babaYaga Posted August 16, 2014 Posted August 16, 2014 (edited) What happens in sweden happens everywhere in europe btw. It´s nothing new that everything that is good for the future of a society is labeled as nationalism today by the so called "left" people who are rich and dont live where the problems are. Utopists from another dimension! Israel is doing what many want but cant do because of their paranoid fear being called a fascist or nationalist. I think it´s envy from many people why they point fingers at a land that is so consequent in their policy Edited August 16, 2014 by NWN_babaYaga
Erez Posted August 16, 2014 Posted August 16, 2014 (edited) Interesting video, but there were almost no Palestinians mentioned on it. can't talk about a conflict of two when you omit one of your sides. And that wasn't the only thing omitted. That guy could join rostere on BBC. Edited August 16, 2014 by Erez
