armitage
Since PE has almost $2.5 Millions now, I'm curious what were the budgets of other similar games like BG1/2, Torment, Icewind Dale and so on. Any clue or reference?
Ieo
Game budgets are typically hush-hush, usually protected by nondisclosure agreements. JWestfall
Even if they are known, I'm not sure it would provide a useful metric to compare to PE - different tech, different business strategy.

A hell of alot of time and inflation as well. Oh yes. And the publisher layer on top (marketing and distribution) vastly bloat a game budget, so there's no direct correlation--that's something OP has to keep in mind. (The links I posted are mostly for more recent games/data.) Edited October 9, 2012 by Ieo 1 The KS Collector's Edition does not include the Collector's Book.
