Alc Cides Posted September 26, 2012 Posted September 26, 2012 You confirmed you're going to make the translations so please don't install the game automatically with the language setting from the Operating System, time zone o whatever. I'd like to choose easily to play the game in English. I found annoying to install a game, it's automatically choose one language and I've to fight to change that setting. Just make an splash screen with language selection. Thanks. 4
eimatshya Posted September 26, 2012 Posted September 26, 2012 I agree. It's nice when they give you the option at install.
Loki Ador Posted September 26, 2012 Posted September 26, 2012 Agreed. You should not need to fumble the inner workings of the game to get the language you want. Language selection should be straightforwardly offered at game setup.
teknoman2 Posted September 26, 2012 Posted September 26, 2012 i have not seen a game with the mechanic you describe so far, but i bet you are talking about one of EA's abominable ideas The words freedom and liberty, are diminishing the true meaning of the abstract concept they try to explain. The true nature of freedom is such, that the human mind is unable to comprehend it, so we make a cage and name it freedom in order to give a tangible meaning to what we dont understand, just as our ancestors made gods like Thor or Zeus to explain thunder. -Teknoman2- What? You thought it was a quote from some well known wise guy from the past? Stupidity leads to willful ignorance - willful ignorance leads to hope - hope leads to sex - and that is how a new generation of fools is born! We are hardcore role players... When we go to bed with a girl, we roll a D20 to see if we hit the target and a D6 to see how much penetration damage we did. Modern democracy is: the sheep voting for which dog will be the shepherd's right hand.
Hugo Rune Posted September 26, 2012 Posted September 26, 2012 THIS! Dark Souls did this (the only way I could play this game in English was by setting my whole computer's language setting to English, for god's sake) and I had a few others where the language selection was an option hidden away in the .ini files. I hate this, it drives me crazy.
qloher Posted September 26, 2012 Posted September 26, 2012 Even better then this, we can have a language selection box available in options to mess with when the game is already installed, not previous to it. 2
Alc Cides Posted September 26, 2012 Author Posted September 26, 2012 Even better then this, we can have a language selection box available in options to mess with when the game is already installed, not previous to it. This is the best option but I 'll happy if the don't expend any resource in an automatic selection and just build a box with the language selection.
leshy Posted September 26, 2012 Posted September 26, 2012 i have not seen a game with the mechanic you describe so far, but i bet you are talking about one of EA's abominable ideas Yup. You had to do a great deal of playing around to have Mass Effect 2 in English and it only worked for the Collector's Edition for some reason. Even worse with C&C4.
