Gorgon
Here's hope a capable artists like Ridley Scott will do his magic with all this fancy CG/3D stuff on the Alien prequel(s). I used to include Cameron in that group. He can do all the Titanics he wants and I'm not going to care but a bad sci fi movie, major disappointment. Na na na na na na ... greg358 from Darksouls 3 PVP is a CHEATER. That is all.
Oerwinde
I'd like a modded version of the Star Wars prequels that are good. One bit that would improve Revenge of the Sith would be replacing Palpatine murdering 3 Jedi Council members with single slow clumsy lightsaber stabs with something that both makes the emperor look cool and doesn't make the Jedi Council look like a bunch of novices. The area between the balls and the butt is a hotbed of terrorist activity.
Monte Carlo
I'd pay good money for a modded version of Avatar where the blue hippies get pwned by evil space mercenaries and their natural resources are pillaged to make more tanks, planes, bombs and stuff. I'd pay good money to see your face when you realize that Avatar is planned as a trilogy. Why?

Blarghagh
If top-tier VFX houses like ILM or Weta are invovled, it guarantees high production values. The film might very well be retarded, but it will look good. Avatar was rubbish as a film, but as a demo of the capabilities of CG and stereoscopic 3D cinema, it was great. Now, imagine if someone sensible would have been given that kind of money and freedom to make a film? Kaftan knows his ****. Props to this post. Although I have to say ILM has been failing to impress me for a couple of years now. Avatar looked fantastic (the texture of the face paint in particular impressed me, it looked damn near to reality) but honestly, 8 special effects companies worked on that and as far as I've been able to find out, ILM just did a lot of designing and render farms. The lion's share of the 3D work wasn't really on them. I'd pay good money for a modded version of Avatar where the blue hippies get pwned by evil space mercenaries and their natural resources are pillaged to make more tanks, planes, bombs and stuff. But apparently they won an Oscar for their compositing work on the film. And Im in the minority here, but I really liked Transformers 2 and was impressed by ILMs work on it. It looked gorgeous(except for the over-use of cyan|orange grading) and was tons of fun. Rosbjerg
In tune with this I just discovered an interesting phenomena called Crowd funding. Where small independent filmmakers can seek financing via private investors, rather than taking their ideas to mainstream distributors.. This is interesting because independent modding of mainstream medias (such as films) could technically be born from this. As I imagine it is currently too expensive to make CGI segments on your own, given the hardware and software requirements. Or an entirely new indie film production could see the light - with pure user generated content - distributed, financed and made by the consumers for themselves. Fortune favors the bald.
