Woman wins on a slot machine, and now the company are claiming it was a computer error. I say "Tough luck, sweethearts". I hope the woman gets a fantastic lawyer and sues the living **** out of them.

Funny that her surname happens to be "Chavez".

The ending of the words is ALMSIVI.

They owe her $43mil. Period.

DWARVES IN PROJECT ETERNITY = VOLOURN HAS PLEDGED $250.

Guess she got april fooled.

I'm a bit torn on this; if by the rules of the game she didn't win but the winning signs all flashed I'm not 100% convinced she should get the jackpot, but I'm not sure she shouldn't get anything either (and she already got a free night, a free meal and the $20 she put in the machine).

I cannot - yet I must. How do you calculate that? At what point on the graph do "must" and "cannot" meet? Yet I must - but I cannot! ~ Ro-Man

43 million dollars on a slot machine? That is a pretty serious bug, dudes.

So far as my (admittedly limited) thinking goes it is incumbent on the house to maintain the machines. If the machine is stated as in play by the house and it pays out then tha is the result which stands. No backsies. I am not for a moment saying there canot be mistakes, but given the seriousness of the game the emphasis MUST be on the operator.

I think this has happened quite a few times. I'm not sure what the outcomes are though.

The real question is whether the house would pay out if a bug prevented someone from winning. Basically the onus is on the vendor to maintain and ensure their machines work. If it is in service, and accepting money then it's statements are those of the house, and payments are valid. Otherwise what is the point?
