Syraxis Posted October 28, 2009 Posted October 28, 2009 (edited) Amazon edit: Oh....download service... Direct2Drive? Edited October 28, 2009 by Syraxis
Deadly_Nightshade Posted October 28, 2009 Posted October 28, 2009 For a second there I thought you were asking about in-game gold and not the package. Anyways, I think that Direct2Drive is the only digital retailer that has NWN2 - although I would recommend the disc version (especially now that the disc-check has been removed). "Geez. It's like we lost some sort of bet and ended up saddled with a bunch of terrible new posters on this forum." -Hurlshot
vault_overseer Posted October 28, 2009 Author Posted October 28, 2009 What about atari store? Is it still D2D? I have a very long night of not doing anything at work ahead of me, so I need some relatively instant gratification.

Yup, apparently you can download it from the atari store. http://www.atari.com/us/games/neverwinter_...ld/dvd_rom?dd=1
vault_overseer Posted October 28, 2009 Author Posted October 28, 2009 Does anyone know anything about this "atari store" DRM/download speeds?
Deadly_Nightshade Posted October 28, 2009 Posted October 28, 2009 What about atari store? Is it still D2D? It might be, I'm not sure. "Geez. It's like we lost some sort of bet and ended up saddled with a bunch of terrible new posters on this forum." -Hurlshot
vault_overseer Posted October 28, 2009 Author Posted October 28, 2009 (edited) Got it @ atari store. So far getting 1.36 MB/s They charged me $4 to keep a backup online for 2 years Also, the download is broken into 18 parts for vanilla game and 3 for motb, making dl speed reset with every part (((((((((((((((((((((((((( Edited October 28, 2009 by vault_overseer
Syraxis Posted October 28, 2009 Posted October 28, 2009 (edited) They charged me $4 to keep a backup online for 2 years Does it automatically install or can you find a means to back it up to a physical medium? Edited October 28, 2009 by Syraxis
vault_overseer Posted October 28, 2009 Author Posted October 28, 2009 It can be backed up. I still like the option of having an online backup.
Syraxis Posted October 28, 2009 Posted October 28, 2009 It can be backed up. I still like the option of having an online backup. Ah. Well hope the PC you're playing on is decent, NWN2's engine is poorly optimized.
vault_overseer Posted October 28, 2009 Author Posted October 28, 2009 it's my work machine, 2.4 core 2 quad, 3 GB, Radeon 2400(might switch it for geforce 8600 that's laying around here) I have a feeling it will suck
Syraxis Posted October 28, 2009 Posted October 28, 2009 it's my work machine, 2.4 core 2 quad, 3 GB, Radeon 2400(might switch it for geforce 8600 that's laying around here) That's good enough, the engine doesn't support multi-core processors (IIRC) but you should have no problems running the game at near all high settings (Anti-aliasing might need to be kept at 2x but no noticeable difference.)
vault_overseer Posted October 28, 2009 Author Posted October 28, 2009 Just found an ati 3650 in one of the unused machine. Ninja grfx card swap tyme!!!
HoonDing Posted October 28, 2009 Posted October 28, 2009 Don't forget to patch the game. It only takes an hour or so. The ending of the words is ALMSIVI.
Syraxis Posted October 28, 2009 Posted October 28, 2009 Just found an ati 3650 in one of the unused machine. Ninja grfx card swap tyme!!! You work in IT or something to that degree?

vault_overseer Posted October 28, 2009 Author Posted October 28, 2009 Ai Papi, it certainly takes its sweet time to install from HDD to HDD
Humodour Posted October 28, 2009 Posted October 28, 2009 Don't forget to patch the game. It only takes an hour or so. It takes longer than an hour. A lot longer. More like a smegging day.
vault_overseer Posted October 28, 2009 Author Posted October 28, 2009 you weren't kidding. Well here's to hoping it will launch when the patching is done.
Purkake Posted October 29, 2009 Posted October 29, 2009 I really hope you'll live through the OC to get to the awesomeness of MotB.
vault_overseer Posted October 29, 2009 Author Posted October 29, 2009 (edited) Well, I was gonna ask, is OC even worth it? Edited October 29, 2009 by vault_overseer
Purkake Posted October 29, 2009 Posted October 29, 2009 Not in my opinion, but I'm sure there's a bunch of people who will say that it is.
