I personally liked the 360 controller more. And FF XIII will also be released on the 360.

 

But at least the PS3 doesn't do funny things like RROD or E74.

Yes controller is totaly subjective, the PS fit better in my hands... And yes FF13 will be on 360 but on 2 billion DVDs

To be honest, Disc swapping never bothered me. I remember the good old Starfleet Academy (Interplay title) that had 5 Discs. Awesome!

Yes it never bothered me aswell, but if i can choose game on 1BD over 4+DVD i rather choose the 1BD version

 

Not to say the versus 13 is PS3 exclusive, so if someone wants both titles and dont have any next-gen console they will go for PS3, like me

Uh huh. I can see why that would bother some people. When I get the red ring, I'll air my frustrations I am sure... I'll probably just send it off for repair, or buy a new one.

I've heard alot of good things, but then again I've heard alot of good things about other PS3 exclusives aswell, Killzone 2, Valkyrie Cronicles and MSG4.

Irrelivent. That would require I have a wireless router, and I could just buy a wireless dongle for the XBox and still be cheaper than a PS3.

When I made the statement I wasn't particularly thinking of the user experience, I was seriously concerning myself with best cross platform software, cost and hardware. Logical things opposed to subjective reasons.

 

I think you'll find that I don't hate the PS3, I've just not been convinced I need one (yet), already having a PC, Xbox 360 and Wii, the PS3 really doesn't seem to have enough of a reason for the me to buy it.

 

Everytime I've seriously looked into getting one, I've always convinced myself that the need isn't actually there and it'd be a choice made in greed, the exclusives are too few and unappealing, the cost too high, and the benefit of blu-ray movies just isn't enough for me to take that step.

You obviously have different requirements.

 

I was merely sat thinking in terms of processing power and misconception. It's more that people talk about the PS3 like it's miles ahead of the 360 in terms of technology, and frankly it isn't. It has a very nice processor, and a crap GPU. The Xbox has a nice processor and a very nice GPU, which lead me to saying "I just don't see why anyone would want a PS3". I stand corrected, there are certainly subjective, and personal reasons why this infact may be so, making it the better machine for certain individuals.

 

I've said before that the PS3 has yet to peak, and that's true. It's going to be a few years yet till the cell processor can be used efficiently, hence the PS3 may infact be a smart buy, but right now I don't see a reasonable reason for myself to actually get one, I'm definately waiting on a price decrease (and maybe even a case redesign) before I seriously think about it myself.

 

After everything is said and done, there is very little reason why anyone would want to own BOTH an 360 and a PS3 at the moment.

Don't forget that if you have a Netflix subscription and Xbox Live, you can stream over 10,000 movies on your TV through the 360. That is the one thing I miss the most.

Having a PS3 is actually pretty neat. There's a few exclusives on it that have made it worthwhile. LittleBigPlanet, Valkyria Chronicles, Disgaea3, and Resistance2 has an interesting little unique co-op mode. It's not a huge library, but it's ultimately not that huge an investment if you have expendable income.

 

PSN is pretty horrible, though.

 

Yeah, 360 isn't the more reliable hardware ever. It's provided me with a huge library suiting my needs, and that's what it really ultimately needs to do. Okay, so I've had to get it repaired once since 2006. But really, if that's your main deterrent, I'm not sure investing "870$" into a system for which one has a very vague idea of what games one would have interest in is the best idea ever, either.

The reason I got a 360 was because a number of components in my then high-end PC died all at the same, right out of warranty. I've had to send the 360 back once because parts died, but at least I had the option to do that, whereas the dead PC parts were junk. The 360 has all the newer games I wanted (and a number of exclusives, like Dead Rising) while my downgraded PC is for older stuff (although my cheap ass video card does a lot better than I expected).

Yes on this i can definately agree with you If you own 360, you kinda dont need PS3, if you have PS3 you kinda dont need Xbox 360...

 

Redesign would be nice aswell

 

The only thing i do hate about PS3 now is no BC. If they would release PS3 with BC today, i would even pay premium price for it... Whatever you say i do not think PS3 is expensive, and i bet my income is lower than most of the people complaining about it... Eastern Europe FTL

Well, the PS2 dropped to 100 Hades in the US now.

 

I guess if I really cared that much about PS2-BC, I'd just get one. I suppose I don't care that much about it. Sony still sucks for removing it.

I have PS2, but i would rather have cappability to play PS1, PS2 and PS3 games in one box
