Is this going to be just another bug hunt?

Featured Replies

Is this game going to be just another dumb mindless low IQ bug hunt type of game or will it have some horror "Alien" twists to it and some puzzle solving/deep story type of features to go with it. If it's all about action, good luck getting a rating of more than 7-8. I hope it plays like a 2009 game and not some 90's type of crap. Already I feel sorry for ACM with Gearbox making it after having played their dumb repetivive crap called Brothers In Arms, Highway to Hell. Please Obsidian, put some Ridley Scott magic into this one, with of course some James Cameron in it.

It's a RPG. In the Aliens universe.

Yes. In fact you should probably just purge any thought of the game from your mind right now. The creative output of a lowly dev studio like Obsidian is far too inferior for a mind such as yours.

Well, it will be a bug hunt in another sense...

I think that's one of the reasons I'm so interested in the title; a RPG implies that perhaps it might be something new and different beyond bug huntinness (not that I dislike bug hunting though) and I'm intrigued to see where the game is going to go and what it is going to offer.

I cannot - yet I must. How do you calculate that? At what point on the graph do "must" and "cannot" meet? Yet I must - but I cannot! ~ Ro-Man

It would be bad ass to put in a HORDE/Zombie like mode in this game. yes its an RPG but they could throw in a "Bug Hunt" type mode which consists of you and your friends just blasting Aliens all day long! Agree or disagree?

What, kind of like a Secret Alien Level?

kinda, if you've ever played gears 2 or call of duty 5 then you'll know what im talking about. its basically you and 3 friends online playing a mode called horde or nazi zombies. its your squad held up in a bunker or certain map just killing waves and waves of locust or zombies. you pick up different weapons and blast your way to the top! its really addicting.

The original AvP game had such a mode. It was hard, but fun. I wouldn't expect an RPG of the sort Obsidian makes to have such an arcade-y minigame as a stand-alone feature. And this is all assuming that this sort of twitch-happy combat scenario would be fun or even work with Obsidz's systems. We don't know that it will, yet.

I'd look more towards Gearbox's shooter for the sort of skirmish mode you're describing.

I haven't played those, but I've played Diablo 2 and Planescape: Torment. They count right?

Oh man, I love blasting Nazi Zombies in World at War.. It's almost as good as Left 4 Dead.

Fortune favors the bald.

I've yet to grasp why a game that is about stupid "Nazi Zombies" sells over 5 million units. People must themself be braindead zombies to enjoy such a nonsense.

Involuntarily I just began grinning like a fool. Well done. Good idea. I can just see shooting aliens like in left 4 dead, but instead of them towelling your helath level downit would be insta-death pain!
