Purkake Posted January 18, 2009 Posted January 18, 2009 Fallen-from-Grace.It's "Fall" Concerning a Planescape action RPG: they were actually developing one for PS in parallel to the PC game we know and love. Yeah, it was supposed to be on PS1 IIRC and the cancellation was probably for the best. Interplay console games were bad to say it mildly(Fallout: BoS, BG:DA)
samm Posted January 18, 2009 Posted January 18, 2009 I found BG:DA to be fun for what it was, a pretty and fluid hack and slay console game. Never playes BoS. Citizen of a country with a racist, hypocritical majority

Purkake Posted January 19, 2009 Posted January 19, 2009 Did someone leave the door open and let all the haters in? Why didn't you like the game/story/characters/boxart? Explain yourselves or suffer the endless wrath of a thousand fanboys(and girls). Would you say that the RPGs of today have better stories?
Bos_hybrid Posted January 19, 2009 Posted January 19, 2009 Would you say that the RPGs of today have better stories? Some do, others don't.

Can you say why you didn't like the plot? I though it was pretty unique and interesting. I don't care if Torment isn't the BEST EVAR, it was awesome enough to be awesome. Awesome! That's the spirit!
Majek Posted January 19, 2009 Posted January 19, 2009 This thread is making me want to play it again. Hmm i might even try the Widescreen mod but there's not 1024x600 interface (yet) so i could fully enjoy it on my eee 901. 1.13 killed off Ja2.

I really didn't like BG1 at first. I was a different person then Later I picked it up and completed it, but it is still "last" on my list of IE games. BG2 takes the crown followed by PS:T and the Icewind Dales. So yeah, Fallout got me into PC gaming and PS:T got me into Infinity Engine games. “He who joyfully marches to music in rank and file has already earned my contempt. Dark_Raven Posted January 20, 2009 Posted January 20, 2009 Well at least you like the IE games. Hades was the life of the party. RIP You'll be missed.
Maria Caliban Posted January 20, 2009 Posted January 20, 2009 BG 1 = boring. I've never finished a game of it. Planescape: Torment is a good game, but what makes it great is the way the setting and the plot merge. "When is this out. I can't wait to play it so I can talk at length about how bad it is." - Gorgon.
Mamoulian War Posted January 20, 2009 Posted January 20, 2009 (edited) Well at least you like the IE games. Infinity Engine, especialy in Hi-Res resolutions looks much much better than most of the "modern" 3D engines... The designers just had to put more time into small details which made the areas look more alive... you can't see much of that nowadays most of the 3D worlds are static, with very few exceptions...
