Holy crap, those are out-of-this-world numbers. I also found the "subscriber definition" interesting as I formerly suspected they counted all players who ever played the game in that 11.5 million number and not just active players as is the case. Man, what a juggernaut!

 

I would not be surprised that total of all players who played WoW before longer than a month, quit and never resubscribed, would be around 2-3 more millions...

Wow. That surprises me. Because BC didn't have 30 free days included IIRC.

 

I think it eventually did.

 

Burning Crusade had some good ideas, but it had a lot of bad ideas mixed into it. Sure, there are things that some folks find annoying with WotLK. There are things that I find annoying about WotLK. That does change the fact that it's an excellent expansion. I think it has been much better received than BC.

 

As an aside, I finally broke down and bought a novelty mount. I bought the Cenarion War Hippogryph, which I've wanted for soooo long.

The only thing that holds me back re-subscribing Wow is that horribly slow combat. It takes eons to kill a pig, even for my badass lvl 12 dwarf.

 

Thinking of MMOs, I'll go back and subscribe a month for WAR now.

Heh combat on higher levels is faster at least with my warlock is :D

 

If your dwarf is by any chance a paladin, then you are out of luck at least until lvl 40-60, when i was leveling my paladin i thought that i die from boredom at low levels... on top levels correct spec works on mobs as a chainsaw

My rogue and mage are probably my fastest people. I don't think pve combat in WAR is any faster. Just depends.

WAR is RvR heavy, so there're more chances to level faster. But WoW still wins for the beautifully created areas and charming atmosphere.

You get 30 free days if you buy WOTLK.

 

And I kill monsters hella quickly lol.

 

And if you're a paladin, get paired up with a healer and just go and aggro 30 guys while the healer heals you, and you can have a bit more fun that way

If you want to level fast, go play Vanguard, then go back to any MMO and it will feel fast in comparison.

 

If you want to kill stuff faster, you might want to try Age of Conan.

2 things, One the world of warcraft general forums Here, and two, I think they are counting individual accounts. People often have several accounts (the highest number was a guy who has I think 40 odd accounts) rather than the number of credit cards being used or something.

I would think so too, and as far as I'm concerned that's the fair way of doing it. It's impossible to say whether or not an credit card is being used for two different people to play, or some guy multiboxing.

 

Besides, it's not like Blizzard cares if some guy wants to play 5 accounts at once.

If you want some good PvP action in MMORPG, you might just wait for Darkfall Online, hopefully the game will be good to play... Still waiting on beta key so i did not tried it yet...

 

Some people says it will be out 25th february, but i kinda don't believe it we will see

So last night I join a PuG for heroic The Culling of Stratholm and we're mowing the place down speed run style. Make it to the 3rd boss in time and the Gold Drake mount drops! HUZZAH! Only me and one other guy in the party dont have it! HUZZAH! He rolls a 49! HUZZAH! I roll a 34........

 

Im a sad panda today.

I don't really care about the dragon mount, but I finally broke down and bought myself the mount I've really wanted ever since I first saw it: the Hippogryph! and since I'm already exalted with the the Cenarion Expedition, and I have my hippogryph mount, I've decided to earn exalted status with the Cenarion Circle and become a Guardian of Cenarius. I've already achieved the Explorer title, but the guardian one seems like a cool rpg thing.

Congrats on the Hippogryph! Im not a mount whore either as Ill usually only purchase one if it has a tangible bonus, like increased speed, and not just because it looks different. I bought the Red Drake just because it looks so f-ing cool though, lol. Im not too bummed on the Gold Drake since I already have Red and I can only use one at a time....at least that what I keep telling myself.

I am working hard on the 100 mount achievement I have already accumulated 75 And the stratholme flying mount is one of the easier mounts to obtain atm If you can some special mount you can try when you are bored to go into lvl 60 Stratholme to kill Baron Rivendare, it is easy to solo for lvl 80 and even after they upped the droprate very few people have the mount I am still missing that one in my collection

We just cleared Strat for some guildies the other day. Didn't drop the mount. I guess Gftd and I are more mercenary, cause I would rather get the Guardian thing. At least that's something that shows all the time. I will admit that I would like to replace my pants because they look kind of goofy, so that's a vanity thing. On the other hand, I haven't because they're the best pants I've found so far. Vanity 1, pragmatism 1.

Now you want to get nutso, Id love to have the Phoenix mount but I think thats only dropped once WORLDWIDE and was on a European server.

 

I couldnt care less what my gear looks like. Ill dress like Bozo the Clown if it gives me the uber stats.

I recently picked up the design for the Titanium Impact Band. I giggle a little every time I go to the AH and see them still selling for 2.2k on average.

Ive never seen the Baron drop that mount. Another cool and rare one drops in Sekketh Halls (iirc) and is a giant bird thing but Ive never seen that one drop either. Now you want to get nutso, Id love to have the Phoenix mount but I think thats only dropped once WORLDWIDE and was on a European server.

 

I couldnt care less what my gear looks like. Ill dress like Bozo the Clown if it gives me the uber stats.

Yeah, Peeps whistle isn't even in game, I do know people who have gotten the ashes of A'lar however.

 

I personally want to get Champion of the Frozen Wastes, or Argent Champion as a title. Mainly because those are some HARD achievements to put together (Argent champion requires a HEAP of turn ins from Strat and Scholo, Frozen wastes requires you to complete EVERY raid and heroic dungeon in the game currently. I fear Heroic Oculus)

Wow, Ive never even seen one. Reading the comments on Peeps, it seems it was only awarded once, to a 12 year old, via the Make a Wish Foundation, who has since succumbed to his illness.

crap like that impact band and the Monarch crab, are making me want to swap to jewel crafting rather than Blacksmithing. That crab is the BEST tanking trinket IN THE GAME right now.
