Tale Posted April 14, 2008 Posted April 14, 2008 (edited) I only played Fallout once, but I don't recall any far reaching consequences for entering a house uninvited. But that might be because I didn't particularly like that game so I didn't pay close attention. Humodour Posted April 14, 2008 Posted April 14, 2008 Such as the topic " First! Will there be crates? ", I totally can't understand what are you talking about~~ The crates thread is just a silly joke. It refers to a thread I made on the Interplay forums (from memory) where I demanded that the Fallout 3 have a secret crate level. It blossomed into numerous valid and convincing posts regarding the pros and cons of crate-based game-play, and whether or not barrels should be given legitimate rights as crates. Quickly the crate-worship spread to the other threads. I recall making the thread a total of 7 times before the moderator (possibly Fionavar) got fed up and let it stay. They were rather gracious, because I was totally expecting a ban. Anyway, I made such a thread again when these Obsidian boards were created 4 years ago. It spurred some fascinating discussion, but was eventually deleted (I believe by myself when I was drunk - this was in the days when you could delete your own posts). Then when Aliens was announced, thepixiesrock and myself made crate threads. I point you to some here: http://forums.obsidianent.com/index.php?showtopic=47272 http://forums.obsidianent.com/index.php?showtopic=47044 http://forums.obsidianent.com/index.php?showtopic=48122 http://forums.obsidianent.com/index.php?showtopic=48534 Then when AP was announced, thepixiesrock again beat me to the first crate thread, much to my chagrin: http://forums.obsidianent.com/index.php?showtopic=49198 And again the usual offshoot threads about ninjas and monkeys. It's a meme that's easy to get into without any history lessons because all you need is a love of crates. A hatred will work too, because it gives me somebody to argue with. So I guess you've got to ask yourself one question: "Do I like crates?" Well, do ya, punk?

I think it's much easilier for me to eat a crate compare with finish reading all the thread~But the anwser is easy at all. I like all the crates filled by Carsomyr or Pale Justice Her mind is Tiffany-twisted, She got the Mercedes Benz She's got a lot of pretty, pretty boys, that she calls friends How they dance in the courtyard, sweet summer sweat. Some dance to remember, some dance to forget
babydol Posted April 21, 2008 Posted April 21, 2008 Complex dialogue tree and wonderful plot. The story's always the most important part of an RPG for me. Check out my KOTOR fan vids on YouTube. And no, they're not of legos.
H Posted April 21, 2008 Posted April 21, 2008 (edited) Damn, and I was certain that crate jokes were references to this article. Edited April 21, 2008 by H
Humodour Posted April 21, 2008 Posted April 21, 2008 Haha crap. I make no claims to the unique origins of crate worship, but I can honestly say that's the first time I've ever seen or heard of that page. Also, it disturbs me. It disturbs me because it claims crates are bad design. No, crates are awesome design. Also, those games look awesome. I'm gonna play them.
thepixiesrock Posted April 21, 2008 Posted April 21, 2008 Yeah, I didn't remember making that crate thread before, but then I remembered the only reason I made it was so I could use that pun. Lou Gutman, P.I.- It's like I'm not even trying anymore!http://theatomicdanger.iforumer.com/index....theatomicdangerOne billion b-balls dribbling simultaneously throughout the galaxy. One trillion b-balls being slam dunked through a hoop throughout the galaxy. I can feel every single b-ball that has ever existed at my fingertips. I can feel their collective knowledge channeling through my viens. Every jumpshot, every rebound and three-pointer, every layup, dunk, and free throw. I am there.
Gorth Posted April 22, 2008 Posted April 22, 2008 Anyway, I made such a thread again when these Obsidian boards were created 4 years ago. It spurred some fascinating discussion, but was eventually deleted (I believe by myself when I was drunk - this was in the days when you could delete your own posts). I think I remember that thread. It was when Knights of the Old Republic 2 was still known as "Project Delaware". You had an Avatar with some crates in it and a signature that went along the lines of "Crates, crunchy on the outside, full of goodies on the inside" or something similar “He who joyfully marches to music in rank and file has already earned my contempt. He has been given a large brain by mistake, since for him the spinal cord would surely suffice.” - Albert Einstein
Gorth Posted April 22, 2008 Posted April 22, 2008 So I will start a English learning plan, Bloodlines will be first teaching material. You might want to avoid playing the Malkavians for a while then... “He who joyfully marches to music in rank and file has already earned my contempt. Deadly_Nightshade Posted April 22, 2008 Posted April 22, 2008 So I will start a English learning plan, Bloodlines will be first teaching material. You might want to avoid playing the Malkavians for a while then... Yeah, they might cause some confusion. "Geez. It's like we lost some sort of bet and ended up saddled with a bunch of terrible new posters on this forum." -Hurlshot
