Frito Bugger Posted April 6, 2008 Posted April 6, 2008 Fellow gamers: I am having a lot of trouble with the game. In the prologue, I cannot get the robot to move. I tried skipping the prologue and found the same problem in the medical area. My PC would move every so often but there was little control because of the delay and non-responsiveness. As it stands now the game is unplayable. This is dissapointing as I am a big fan and was really looking forward to trying this out. My dxdiag is attached. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance, Frito BuggerFrito_DxDiag.txt
Aeryian Posted April 6, 2008 Posted April 6, 2008 (edited) Okay, now just to be clear, everything is displaying properly right? No actual graphical issues, its just that your controls won't work? can you please post your swkotor2.ini file (located in your main SWKotOR2 folder) and also your swplayer.ini have you patched the game to the latest patch? Well, actually everything seems slow and stutters a lot as well. The game has the latest patch. The forum would not allow me to upload either of those files. It says that I cannot upload that type of file.

mkg Posted April 6, 2008 Posted April 6, 2008 I will assume that this is a laptop. I think this is the problem: Card name: ATI MOBILITY RADEON 9000/9100 IGP Manufacturer: ATI Technologies Inc. Chip type: MOBILITY RADEON 9100 IGP AGP (0x5835) your graphics card was meant for things web surfing and movies not for games. You might want to update the drivers (go here).
Deadly_Nightshade Posted April 7, 2008 Posted April 7, 2008 So, I looked into your Integrated graphics processor (IGP) and found this review: ATI Mobility Radeon 9000/9100 IGP: * DirectX Level: DirectX 8.1 * Pipelines: 2 Pipelines * Memory Configurations: 128-bits, shared with system Not completely miserable but not stellar, either. These usually are only found on Pentium 4 notebooks, and if they're only found on Pentium 4 notebooks, chances are you won't ever be using them anyhow. For the curious, though, Unreal Tournament 2004 and Half-Life 2 on low settings will be about as far as you'll go. Based on this, and some other research I did, I would guess that you need to either get more RAM or your IGP might simply not be able to handle Kot0R 2. You should definitely set everything to low and tweak the ini to remove some of the optional graphics - but that is about all you can try. "Geez. It's like we lost some sort of bet and ended up saddled with a bunch of terrible new posters on this forum." -Hurlshot
Deadly_Nightshade Posted April 7, 2008 Posted April 7, 2008 I doubt that would change anything. "Geez. It's like we lost some sort of bet and ended up saddled with a bunch of terrible new posters on this forum." -Hurlshot
Swxpert Posted April 7, 2008 Posted April 7, 2008 i'm just tring to cover all the bases, this game (like many) really wasn't ment to be played on a laptop, i think 1. get more ram 2. try it on a desktop
Enoch Posted April 12, 2008 Posted April 12, 2008 (edited) I successfully ran KotOR 2 on my laptop with a Radeon Mobility 9000 back when the game was new. Got some stuttering in the movies and the occasional crash, but it worked. Edit: Mine was the AGP interface version, so your mileage may vary. Edited April 12, 2008 by Enoch
thepixiesrock Posted April 12, 2008 Posted April 12, 2008 Have you tried playing the game without installing it on your computer? You should try that. I just want to cover all the bases here. Lou Gutman, P.I.- It's like I'm not even trying anymore!http://theatomicdanger.iforumer.com/index....theatomicdangerOne billion b-balls dribbling simultaneously throughout the galaxy. One trillion b-balls being slam dunked through a hoop throughout the galaxy. I can feel every single b-ball that has ever existed at my fingertips. I can feel their collective knowledge channeling through my viens. Every jumpshot, every rebound and three-pointer, every layup, dunk, and free throw. I am there.
Deadly_Nightshade Posted April 12, 2008 Posted April 12, 2008 You might want to try rolling back your video card drivers to see if that helps, it cannot really hurt anything, as long as you have the new drivers backed up, and it is worth attempting. People also seem to be having success with the "Omega drivers" - so you might want to look into those. "Geez.
