I never really got this topic. There

I AM A PREDALIEN ROAR!!

Nope. No predalien. Never. Nu uh.

How many bubbles do you need me to burst to convince you enough there will not be any predators or predaliens in this RPG exclusively only for Aliens setting?

People hunger for more original stuff currently thrown onto the marked. But the overall game must be excellent.

Look at some highly anticipated games with a strong franchise behind em Failed horrible (Shadowrun shooter anyone?)

Alien rpg is one of my upcomming favorites. One of the best possible settings, dark and wicked. Lots of options there yet. Wish it features party combat and some mental manipulative powers.

What do you mean by "mental manipulative powers"? Are you referring to something like psionics, or... ?

I hope not :ermm:

But that is just me...

*dreaming of a game where humans are humans, distinguished by human traits, personalities and skills*

So much potential for a game about conspiracies, treason, backstabbing, gore, sex, fear, repulsiveness, comraderie, technological marvels and short comings etc. Please, no wizards!

Heh, it seems I need to burst yours: Learn to recognize trolls. It's not that hard.

As for psionics; no thanks and goodbye. No illusion powers, no psychics, no hypnotic sight, no mass suggestion, no esp and no psyking(unless you are going to take the logical step and turn this into WH40k rpg.)! If there is got to be an extrahuman ability, have something like interfacing with defence turrets from a distance thanks to implants, something consistent and relatively free of "zhoooom" sounds and flashy graphical effects. Dystopic military scifi ffs.

It has made me the man I am today. A man who craves furry hentai.

So let us go and embrace the rustling smells of unseen worlds

I don't honestly believe the reception of AvP films has a lot of effect on how people view the video games. People seem to be pretty excited about Gearbox's A:CM.

I believe so.

My money's on it being an alt.

I, for a change, would like to see humans presented as just that. No psionics, magics, nanites, or neural interfaces. There was none of that in the Aliens films, btw. Don't know about the comics.

But I think that having the player be a plain old human in a setting where androids are superior at pretty much everything, and getting better faster than humans can deal with it, could be interesting. You know, like a somewhat Blade Runner-ish theme, or something. I'm rambling, but I think a realistic depiction of humans is an important element of the Alien setting.

Actually, the longer the time passes, the more I think that this will not actually be a problem for Alien(s) CRPG. Hopefully, though, it is not just bias on my part due to my liking of the franchise.
