Walsingham Posted July 5, 2007 Posted July 5, 2007 http://uk.reuters.com/article/oddlyEnoughN...05?feedType=RSS I'm not a smoker, but wouldn't this just lead to smokers sucking up cigarettes faster? Hurlshort Posted July 5, 2007 Posted July 5, 2007 Heh, next they'll want non-toxic cigarettes! What's the point if it isn't dangerous to you and the people around you? I don't really see this creating more smokers or causing people to smoke more. Fires are pretty low on the list of problems with cigarette smoking. Heck, they only cause a couple thousand deaths a year in the EU due to fires. That's nothing compared to cancer.
Walsingham Posted July 5, 2007 Author Posted July 5, 2007 Tyical EU measure then. Like their regulation that made car/pedestrian collisons less than a fraction of a percent safer, but boosted emissions by making the cars less fuel efficient. "It wasn't lies. It was just... bull****"." -Elwood Blues tarna's dead; processing... complete. Disappointed by Universe. RIP Hades/Sand/etc. Here's hoping your next alt has a harp.
Fenghuang Posted July 5, 2007 Posted July 5, 2007 I'm too lazy to read the story, but if these are the ones that go out if you don't take a drag off them every so often they've been like that for the past few months here. Drives my smoker friends crazy because if they stop to talk for too long they need to relight their smoke. Also: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/main.jhtml...5/ndrunk105.xml RIP

Like their regulation that made car/pedestrian collisons less than a fraction of a percent safer, but boosted emissions by making the cars less fuel efficient. Hehe, its been like that for years here. For example, look at the Honda Civic. Back in the 80's that car would get 52 MPG. Flash forward 20 or so years and 700Lbs of safety equipment and the same model gets 37 MGP. "I'm your biggest fan, Ill follow you until you love me, Papa"

Well you need that safety equipment when one of those HD Trucks comes barreling at you with a 40 gal tank ful of diesel. People laugh when I say that I think a jellyfish is one of the most beautiful things in the world. What they don't understand is, I mean a jellyfish with long, blond hair.
Walsingham Posted July 5, 2007 Author Posted July 5, 2007 Don't get me wrong. I'm in favour of anything that allows me to pass out drunk on my couch without setting fire to my groin. "It wasn't lies. Aram Posted July 5, 2007 Posted July 5, 2007 Another stupid and inconvenient thing a nanny government wants to make mandatory for everyone to protect some people so stupid natural selection rules they ought to just die anyway.
Pop Posted July 6, 2007 Posted July 6, 2007 (edited) WOOO SOCIAL DARWINISM YEAH HIGH FIVE BURN THE UNDERCLASS I've got a better idea to protect homes from fires: Don't smoke. Edited July 6, 2007 by Pop Join me, and we shall make Production Beards a reality!
