They both had good graphics and excellent stories. I'm more picky on 3D games, mainly character faces and how they need to look real. I'd take a simple looking Fallout over a horrid looking NWN.

Then by your logic you should hate Bloodlines, because it has horrid graphics.

It does? >_<

Source has some of the best looking graphics that I have seen from a game engine. Half Life 2 and Bloodlines look great.

I didn't play Bloodlines, but all screenshots I've seen on these boards so far are unimpressive.

Better GFX cost more room in terms of RAM & Disk space, they also take longer to produce.

So as a general rule good graphics actually costs gameplay & game length.

That's why NWN2 failed in the graphics area. :'(

Hades was the life of the party. RIP You'll be missed.

>_< Bloodlines had awesome looking graphics. That and the Kotor games.

I like the graphics in NWN2 more than the ones in KotOR1/2 or Bloodlines.

The models are fine, nothing special but certainly not poorly modeled, but the GFX pipeline, yuk... NWN2 looks good with everything turned up to 11, problem is it doesn't really like to run with everything on, it more crawls along at around 10fps

NWN2's art had nothing special, it was okey dokey from a technical standpoint, but it just looked like another uninspired nice specialFX-overdosed 0815-game.

Art was average but certainly not bad, but technically I can't help but feel there was a major error somewhere by someone.

To each his own. Artistically and technically wise, I think Half-Life 2, Bloodlines, Thief 3 and FEAR are the best I've seen lately. I wonder what Obsidian will have in store for us once they announce PG. Hopefully it won't be such a disapointment like Mass Effect (Star Wars anyone?)

The character graphics, mainly elves, are horrible looking.

How disappointing. Using an established game engine will save development time on the game, plus any quirks or bugs are usually worked out.

If you turn the graphics and AA all the way up, the characters actually look pretty good thanks to self-shadowing. Doom 3 couldn't do self-shadowing and was all borked if you enabled it.

Usually yes. But it can save time too or be prettier than the current popular engine (thinks Painkiller and Serious Sam)

Just have to wait for the screens now, eh.

Unreal for one (or both) of the other projects then... (Read: NEW JERSEY! What happened?)

I agree that that is such a stupid idiotic pathetic garbage hateful retarded scumbag evil satanic nazi like term ever created. At least top 5.

Awesome.

Obsid should use Cry-Engine 2

I'm not sure Aliens go well with tropical environs.

Sega is giving us a reasonable amount of time for the development of our technology. The designers and engineers on the game are all very realistic and level-headed about what we are doing.
