Should've named him "Rock".

If you can throw people through the walls of shacks, does that mean that the shacks can collapse? That destrection looks exceptionally clean. Destructible environments have been done before in FPSs (Red Faction 2, which I'm still embarassed to have played all the way through) but not very well. I'm guessing they just marked a specific place on the wall that could be destroyed with flying bodies.

David was the TV series (the producers thought "Bruce" was too effeminate), even though his name was "Bruce David Banner" in the comics, IIRC.

Did you look that up? Or did you just know that?

Notice how I can belittle your beliefs without calling you names. It's a useful skill to have particularly where you aren't allowed to call people names. It's a mistake to get too drawn in/worked up. I mean it's not life or death, it's just two guys posting their thoughts on a message board. If it were personal or face to face all the usual restraints would be in place, and we would never have reached this place in the first place. Try to remember that.

Crytek claims (of course..) that their destruction will be like nothing we've seen before. They've released videos showing how they demolish an entire building by driving a truck through it, how full auto on a Gatlin gun tears down the forest in front of you and stuff like that. I vaguely remember seeing wooden planks splinter exactly on the spot where you shoot them too..

Ohh...after all this GFX hype and stuff I forgot something to ask: What's actually the story about the game? I just don't remember anymore... Not that it is any important when I also can throw people through walls and watch the physical perfectly calculated wooden plank flying around, which also bounce back properly according to DX10 Sm 4.0 specifications....and stuff.

Well, the tv series was on when I was younger, and The Incredible Hulk was my favourite comic (along with Iron Man: I still remember the look on the customs official's face when I took my entire collection through the checkpoint at Moscow :D ); so it only makes sense that I took an active interest in such details.

Extra-terrestrial object crash lands in/near North Korea; PC is an operative sent there to investigate (cue lots of politically-correct violence against the eeeeevil North Koreans, who have got to the crashsite first); then the object triggers some environmental event whereby the world starts to freeze, from the crashsite out (cue lots of politically-correct violence against aliens).

:)

You guys need to check out the trailer on Gametrailers, the one where the player takes down a helicopter. It really resembles the best moments in Boiling Point (a small favourite of mine) and that's a good thing!

Let's see if this link works:

Ps. It works. If you turn off Ad Block Plus in Firefox.. :)

The Xbox 360 version will supposedly incorporate similar story elements to its PC brethren, but will feature different gameplay aspects (physics, environments, etc.) that better utilize 360's DirectX 9 technology (the PC version is being built using DirectX 10).

I wonder if it will be multi-threaded ...
