Hurlshort Posted October 12, 2006 Posted October 12, 2006 Anyone catch the TV show "Smith" with Ray Liotta? I was enjoying it and they cancelled it 3 episodes in. It seems like a waste, I'm sure that cast wasn't cheap, but it was bringing in over 8 million viewers. Anyways, there's a petition here if anyone is interested. They could at least finish the season out, it had some solid storylines. Oh yeah, it had the guy from Johnny Zero in it. I loved that guy, and I feel pretty bad that he has another show cancelled without even getting a full season out.
Kor Qel Droma Posted October 12, 2006 Posted October 12, 2006 I caught the first two episodes as I'm a big Ray Liotta fan, but when it came time to watch the third I kind of tuned out. It looks like I wasn't the only one. The pilot was exceptional, I thought. The second episode lost a little bit of steam for me, I kind of thought it was pretty much the same as the first one with a plot device or three thrown in. Do these new shows that get cancelled mean that they are bigger failures because of all the movie talent invading teevee these days? The cast of Smith alone featured four or five big screen actors. Jaguars4ever is still alive. No word of a lie.
Hurlshort Posted October 12, 2006 Author Posted October 12, 2006 I'm sure the expectations are higher with marquee talent.
Kor Qel Droma Posted October 12, 2006 Posted October 12, 2006 Poor Ray, he never really recovered from Operation Dumbo Drop. Jaguars4ever is still alive. No word of a lie.
Laozi Posted October 12, 2006 Posted October 12, 2006 Nor did Danny Glover People laugh when I say that I think a jellyfish is one of the most beautiful things in the world. What they don't understand is, I mean a jellyfish with long, blond hair.
Pop Posted October 12, 2006 Posted October 12, 2006 (edited) I dunno. He was pretty excellent in Narc. *edit - Ray Liotta, that is. I thought Glover was well-used in The Royal Tenenbaums Edited October 12, 2006 by Pop Join me, and we shall make Production Beards a reality!
mr insomniac Posted October 12, 2006 Posted October 12, 2006 First movie I saw Danny Glover in, in a long time, was Saw. I kept expecting him to say, "I'm getting too old for this ****" at some point, and now I can't remember if he actually did, but I don't believe so. I took this job because I thought you were just a legend. Just a story. A story to scare little kids. But you're the real deal. The demon who dares to challenge God. So what the hell do you want? Don't seem to me like you're out to make this stinkin' world a better place. Why you gotta kill all my men? Why you gotta kill me? Nothing personal. It's just revenge.
Kor Qel Droma Posted October 12, 2006 Posted October 12, 2006 I liked Narc as well, but it wasn't a major success or anything. Smith had some promise as well, but the market is pretty saturated this season with all the continuous plotline shows. There's probably some crime related show on every night of the week ( don't ask me, my only regular shows are Heroes and Lost with Smallville pretty much ready to get the boot), or at least that's what it looks like on my program guide. See how we get back on topic here? Jaguars4ever is still alive. No word of a lie.
