alanschu Posted September 30, 2006 Posted September 30, 2006 The high texture pack that I used before seemed to work okay. Though for some reason the guy that made it opted for making the midwives topless.
Slowtrain Posted September 30, 2006 Posted September 30, 2006 I don't know how well you can see these. The game is pretty dark in some levels, and I like playing it even darker. Like I said, the AI is pretty good, I drew this particuarr creature toward me by beating on the wall with a wrench. Its coming to investigate the sound. Notice how I can belittle your beliefs without calling you names. It's a useful skill to have particularly where you aren't allowed to call people names. It's a mistake to get too drawn in/worked up. I mean it's not life or death, it's just two guys posting their thoughts on a message board. If it were personal or face to face all the usual restraints would be in place, and we would never have reached this place in the first place. Try to remember that.

Slowtrain Posted September 30, 2006 Posted September 30, 2006 Here's a pick of inventory and the UI. This game has one of my favorite UIs of any fps game ever. Basically you press tab to shoft back and forth between the complex UI and the combat UI. Its almost seamless. Notice how I can belittle your beliefs without calling you names. Slowtrain Posted September 30, 2006 Posted September 30, 2006 Hacking a security station. Hack is a pretty valuable skill in the game. I'm on a ladder and am deep doo-doo. This hybrid shot me off the ladded and I fell into the nacelle core and died. Happily I had long ago activated the rebuild station, so for the cost of ten nanites I was back and running just a moment later! Notice how I can belittle your beliefs without calling you names. Dark_Raven Posted September 30, 2006 Author Posted September 30, 2006 Nice screenshots. Images look better than I imagined. Hades was the life of the party. RIP You'll be missed.
Darque Posted September 30, 2006 Posted September 30, 2006 If the graphics bother you, not saying they do, but if they did there's a graphics enhancement mod out on the net.

Meshugger Posted September 30, 2006 Posted September 30, 2006 What i said about Deus Ex can be said about System Shock 2. A classic, every gamer should try this one. "Some men see things as they are and say why?""I dream things that never were and say why not?"- George Bernard Shaw"Hope in reality is the worst of all evils because it prolongs the torments of man."- Friedrich Nietzsche "The amount of energy necessary to refute bull**** is an order of magnitude bigger than to produce it." - Some guy

One of the main reasons why I never bothered with any 3D game until Kotor 1 is the graphics didn't please me. Hades was the life of the party. RIP You'll be missed.

alanschu Posted September 30, 2006 Posted September 30, 2006 They shoot a projectile. The only way to be hit from 3 rooms away is to not move after it shoots.
Darque Posted September 30, 2006 Posted September 30, 2006 Yup, but given their size, you won't always know where they are or where they're shooting from.
Dark_Raven Posted September 30, 2006 Author Posted September 30, 2006 That explains it. Hades was the life of the party. RIP You'll be missed.
Hassat Hunter Posted September 30, 2006 Posted September 30, 2006 Good thing the beam isn't bright blue giving it away from far; far; far away. alanschu Posted September 30, 2006 Posted September 30, 2006 Fortunately they'll be squealing away as you run by, so you'll at least know it's nearby. Even if you can't see it (which does make it spookier).
Darque Posted October 1, 2006 Posted October 1, 2006 Not always. I've been sniped by the damn things without them making a noise. Might have been a bug though.
Dark_Raven Posted October 1, 2006 Author Posted October 1, 2006 I wonder if there is a game guide still around for this. " Hades was the life of the party. RIP You'll be missed.
Darque Posted October 1, 2006 Posted October 1, 2006 Given it's age? Gamefaqs might be your only hope.
Dark_Raven Posted October 1, 2006 Author Posted October 1, 2006 Used book stores or Amazon. Knowledge is power. I don't like surprises. Hades was the life of the party. RIP You'll be missed.
