Krookie Posted July 21, 2006 Posted July 21, 2006 Well, today I was supposed to be sailing to the Carribean with my family, unfortunatly...THIS happend: http://www.abcnews.go.com/GMA/story?id=2210556 Now, because the ship had to spend 2 days 'recovering' in Florida, my family and I will leave on Saturday, and get a 50% refund.
LadyCrimson Posted July 21, 2006 Posted July 21, 2006 At least they're giving a partial refund. And you still get to go to the Carribean. Bummer about losing a couple days tho. “Things are as they are. SteveThaiBinh Posted July 21, 2006 Posted July 21, 2006 (edited) Exactly. Kind of a lucky escape, maybe? The article says the ship was already tilting when it left port. What could have caused this, but wouldn't have immediately signalled the need to stay in dry dock? Edited July 21, 2006 by SteveThaiBinh "An electric puddle is not what I need right now." metadigital Posted July 21, 2006 Posted July 21, 2006 At least it didn't happen while you were on it. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> That was my first thought. Actually, myfirst thought was I hope that neither of those two passengers were either of your parents. OBSCVRVM PER OBSCVRIVS ET IGNOTVM PER IGNOTIVS OPVS ARTIFICEM PROBAT

Petay Posted July 21, 2006 Posted July 21, 2006 Woah, that was a close call, reminded me slightly of the film Poseidon. Good to hear you weren't on it though, sounds like a scary experience.

Darth Hades Posted July 21, 2006 Posted July 21, 2006 When I first heard this story it was only a 15 degree tilt, now its a 30 degree tilt? Not one damn person on the boat or reporting the news took geometry?
thepixiesrock Posted July 21, 2006 Posted July 21, 2006 Yeah, because if they had taken a geometry class, they would have been able to tell the exact degree that it tilted while they were on the ship.
