Morgoth Posted June 11, 2006 Posted June 11, 2006 Slowly but certainly I become an Ebay addict, but that doesn't mean I buy trash even when I can get it for ONE EURO. So, does anyone here own Blade Runner from Westwood? Does it have the cool mood and so-so cool chars like the movie? How's the gamplay? Does it run on WinXP? Thanks. Rain makes everything better.
Musopticon? Posted June 11, 2006 Posted June 11, 2006 Yes, yes and no. Sorry. kirottu said: I was raised by polar bears. I had to fight against blood thirsty wolves and rabid penguins to get my food. Those who were too weak to survive were sent to Sweden. It has made me the man I am today. A man who craves furry hentai. So let us go and embrace the rustling smells of unseen worlds
Hurlshort Posted June 11, 2006 Posted June 11, 2006 I actually really liked the game. It was more of an adventure game than anything else. It also was pretty short, I think under 10 hours. It did a great job of capturing the atmosphere of Ridley Scott's world. I'm guessing you will have trouble running it on XP though.
ramza Posted June 11, 2006 Posted June 11, 2006 I own that game and it was really great! It has at least 4 different endings but is quite short overall. It was very interesting for its time, but it still might be worth a look nowadays. If it's only for 1 euro, go get it. BTW, isn't there a program that allows you to play old games on new pcs (I think there was a thread about that here...) "Ooo, squirrels, Boo! I know I saw them! Quick, throw nuts!" -Minsc "I am a well-known racist in the Realms! Elves? Dwarves? Ha! Kill'em all! Humans rule! -Me Volourn will never grow up, he's like the Black Peter Pan, here to tell you that it might be great to always be a child, but everybody around is gonna hate it.
Morgoth Posted June 11, 2006 Author Posted June 11, 2006 Okey dokey, I got it for 2,50 EUR. It's mine now. What could a man possibly do wrong with a mere 2,50 EUR anyway? And somehow I'll get it to run on my machine.... I even got System Shock 1 working on XP. Take that! Rain makes everything better.
Bokishi Posted June 11, 2006 Posted June 11, 2006 Get DosBox, it can run anything i think. Current 3DMark
Baley Posted June 11, 2006 Posted June 11, 2006 (edited) Blade Runner is Windows native (Am I even using the term correctly? Anyway, it was developed for Windows 95). And yes it works well on XP. The game was available on the now defunct Frenchkiss abandonware site. Edited June 11, 2006 by Baley
Lyric Suite Posted June 12, 2006 Posted June 12, 2006 It was more of an adventure game than anything else. I don't understand this comment. An adventure game being more of an adventure game then anything else? How does that work?
Hurlshort Posted June 12, 2006 Posted June 12, 2006 Nobody had stated earlier that it was an adventure game, so I was clumsily stating that. It had a few action scenes if I remember correctly, so that might be what I mean.
ramza Posted June 12, 2006 Posted June 12, 2006 Well, it's mostly a click-on-everything type of game... "Ooo, squirrels, Boo!
Briosafreak Posted June 12, 2006 Posted June 12, 2006 Blade Runner was made for w98 AND WindowsNT, it works perfectly on XP. One of the best games ever, there are at least 12 diferent endings in the game. Planet Fallout
