Fenghuang
Remember what friend Sawyer said... that's minimum. Sawyer's always played a straight shooter, so I think we should believe him. Still, even the computer I just built for my mom surpasses those requirements in every way, so I'm not worried. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Awesome. Does your mom plan on playing NWN2 multiplayer? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I'm honestly surprised no one's made a joke about playing with Eldar's mom yet. Good job guys. Judge Hades
Yep. I get about 15 to 20 FPS in open sky combat which is just fine by me. I got maxed out 6x AA, and high end on all settings except HDR, my card doesn't support it. The only setting I have at minimum is resolution at 640 x 480. Plays quite satisfactory. alanschu
15 to 20 fps.... More willing to sacrifice than me I guess. I get headaches at that framerate. What card do you have though, that does 6xAA with high selected on all other settings, but doesn't support HDR?
Judge Hades
Radeon X700 Pro. And that is combat FPS. In normal gameplay outside and inside I get about 20 to 30 FPS. More if I turn off Bloom. Edited May 16, 2006 by Judge Hades

alanschu
I don't find combat affects my FPS too much. It typically chugs around at a constant rate. I just notice it more because my life depends on it more. I typically have no problems with 30, but once it starts dropping below that and I can easily perceive the missed frames, I start getting a headache. It's similar with the 60 Hz monitor refresh rate. You're the first person I have met that said 15 fps is a-ok for them. EDIT: Darque, my point still stands. It's been that way for years. Judge Hades
No, not really. PC has games I want to play and at most consoles have 4 to 5 in their entire lifespan. Like I said before a console isn't worth more than a $100 because you can't use a console for utility work like a PC. When a Console has the full range of capabilities of a PC then I'll go fully console. For now consoles are just for games and I do more than just game. Judge Hades
Hey, I am just a typical consumer of goods. I look for value when I buy a major electronic device and a PC has more value than a console. Always have and always will.
