Llyranor Posted May 23, 2006 Posted May 23, 2006 Exactly what it sounds like. (Approved by Fio, so feel free to use it)
Fenghuang Posted May 23, 2006 Posted May 23, 2006 Hey, we should play CoC instead. Jim, you up to it? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I'll have to talk to some 'friends' first so as to 'accquire' the relevant source books, but yeah; I'm down with pretty much anything Lovecraft related. RIP
Cantousent Posted May 23, 2006 Author Posted May 23, 2006 I'd hate to lose the current batch of characters, but I love the Lovecraftian mythos. I can't GM it, but I'm damned happy to play it. Hey, my character from Vampire was really a Lovecraftian scholar. He just happened to feed on pretty women. He didn't want to do it. He didn't have a choice. Fenghuang Posted May 23, 2006 Posted May 23, 2006 Actually I just poked around a bit and it looks like the CoC sourcebook is remarkably cheap. I'll order it from Amazon after I get my next paycheck. I'll mess around with setting up a campaign after that. RIP
Cantousent Posted May 23, 2006 Author Posted May 23, 2006 Huzzah! I can sleep well tonight knowing that CoC is in my future. It'll will be waaaaay cool. ...Or whatever you people say when you're happy these days. Fenghuang Posted May 23, 2006 Posted May 23, 2006 We're pretty apathetic. You're doing good if you get a 'Whatever.' out of us. Should I buy any of the supplements? The reviews seem to be a mixed bag on whether or not I need them. RIP

Llyranor Posted June 15, 2006 Posted June 15, 2006 RIP Horace (Approved by Fio, so feel free to use it)

I'll order it from Amazon after I get my next paycheck. I'll mess around with setting up a campaign after that. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> SO...!?!?!? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well the thing is I'm spectacularly irresponsible and I spent the money on other things when the bookstore I was conincidentally at didn't have it. I'll order it tomorrow along with the Preacher TPBs (payday is tomorrow or the next day). RIP
Blank Posted June 15, 2006 Posted June 15, 2006 (edited) That's good to hear. I was just wondering what was going to happen, since you said you'd do it. If it didn't work out for you, I would've happily berated Eldar for ditching us. Edited June 15, 2006 by Blank
Fenghuang Posted June 15, 2006 Posted June 15, 2006 Yeah, well it'll also give me an excuse for asking for Fridays off which I really want to do now that the Street Fair's coming up and that means the store stays open an hour or two later. RIP

Fenghuang Posted June 16, 2006 Posted June 16, 2006 Alright, I spent a buncha money on comic books just now and I'm gonna wait until tomorrow night before buying the Cthulu sourcebooks to make sure the money I deposited in my account is there. I'm buying the main one and probably the 1920s Investigator's Handbook unless anyone has any better ideas. Note I'm completely new to PnP roleplaying aside from Ender's campaign and reading these boards, and I'm totally open to suggestions. RIP
Blank Posted June 16, 2006 Posted June 16, 2006 Suggestions... you mean, constructive suggestions? Because if that is what you mean, I have to stop typing now...
Fenghuang Posted June 16, 2006 Posted June 16, 2006 I just dunnae wanna waste money on stuff I won't need to run the campaign, and I don't want to not have the stuff I need to run the campaign considering Amazon claims it's going to take them 4-6 weeks to ship a lousy book. <grumbles> RIP
Baley Posted June 16, 2006 Posted June 16, 2006 How much Lovecraft have you read? Note that I'm not suggesting you read some Lovecraft, God no, poor guy was at times a decent writer, but usually spewed more dreck than Sandra Brown. What I'm curious about is your acquaintance with his particular superfaggy writing style. Don't use it, please! Makes a modern man sound like a no-good Goth wanker pegged by a rabid mare.
Fenghuang Posted June 16, 2006 Posted June 16, 2006 I've read about half of all the stuff he wrote. I could probably write like him, but not off the top of my head as I'd need to if I were DMing a game. Plus you guys would be playing the characters, not me. RIP
