Slowtrain
Ah, I do so remember my Diamond Stealth "3d" card with a whopping 1MB of memory. How quaint it seems now. Or my Orchid Farenheit Vesa Local card. It seemed so awesome at the time. Notice how I can belittle your beliefs without calling you names. It's a useful skill to have particularly where you aren't allowed to call people names. It's a mistake to get too drawn in/worked up. I mean it's not life or death, it's just two guys posting their thoughts on a message board. If it were personal or face to face all the usual restraints would be in place, and we would never have reached this place in the first place. Try to remember that. Judge Hades
Yeah I just noticed the one I pointed out was 128MB, not good enough. What's another $30.00 dollars? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Like I said you could find it cheaper at Newegg or at CompUSA if you had one near you.
mkreku
Can I come with a suggestion? XFX makes damn fine video cards at damn fine prices. Check this out: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16814150130 That's what I would recommend in your price range ($134), a Geforce 6800 with 256 MB RAM, although it's PCI-Express. You didn't mention if you had AGP or PCI-Express, but I am sure it comes in both flavors anyhow. Swedes, go to: Spel2, for the latest game reviews in swedish! angshuman
Like I said you could find it cheaper at Newegg or at CompUSA if you had one near you. What he said. Best Buy are thugs. That 6600 priced at $184 is a joke, it's not even worth half that. And for heaven's sake, PLEASE DO NOT GO AFTER 256MB!!!!! You could read up my countless previous posts on the matter. The bottom line is that a 6600GT with 128MB GDDR3 will blow a 6600 with 256MB or 1GB or 200000 BAJILLION JIGGA BYTES out of the water. The $150 6600GT on Best Buy seems to be somewhat reasonably priced. I remember that Newegg had a 6600GT at around $99 a couple of months back. mkreku
PLEASE DO NOT GO AFTER 256MB!!!!! XFX PVT42EUDE3 6800 XTreme 256MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express x16 Video Card - Retail That's the card I recommended. Notice the bolded part? It's only $134, which is a great price (according to me). This particular card really does sound like an awesome deal. Am I the only one who thinks that sounds ridiculous? :D It most certainly is a unique card. I had never seen a vanilla 6800 coupled with GDDR3 memory before. And the price is ridiculously good. (w00t)
